A wonderful retreat for a peaceful week away. Owners so helpful and a scrumptious welcome basket of goodies on arrival. Stunning location with total privacy and peace and quiet. Unique in that sense, and very very much appreciated. Everything at the cottage was just what I needed. (I just found the dishwasher didn't always clean items, so needed a re-run. Both times on hottest/longest wash-cycle). The wifi for internet connection worked better than at home. Thank you for providing this. Blessed with incredible weather all week, and sat out sunbathing over the May Day bank holiday weekend. Location also greatly enjoyed by my cat Hatty, whom the owners kindly allowed me to bring with me (we are an inseparable pair!!). She very much enjoyed crepuscular activities (mousing) and brought gifts to the back door! She had a super time. Ostensibly a recuperative break following illness, the week away did require me to complete some work -a report- and submit remotely by email. High Beacon Cottage proved to be the most conducive environment for both writing and retreat. As a former Wolds resident (Hemingby 2003-2010) I knew the area well, and enjoyed day to day shopping and browsing in both Horncastle and Louth. Great to be back in the Wolds, where I left part of my heart in 2010. Thank you again for a wonderful cottage and a fab stay !

We stayed at High Beacon Cottage as we wanted to be in a quiet location away from New Year fireworks for our dog. The cottage was beautiful, enhanced by the Christmas decorations. It is lovely and quiet with everything you need, only 30 minutes drive to the coast to take advantage of the endless beaches. The views from the cottage are amazing with the big skies. The cottage is also like a tardis, it looks tiny from outside but is really spacious inside.
