Dating back to the early 1700s and originally built for the use of Hexham Abbey, Hexham House has been lovingly restored and renovated into seven apartments which are unique, individual and full of style. Perfect as a wedding venue, or for guests wanting to enjoy a family get together or celebration with friends, Hexham House really does have everything to offer. Looking onto the grounds of Hexham Abbey, guests will have full use of this public space and will have access straight into these gardens. For larger groups, the whole building can be booked together, and with prior arrangement with the owners, a separate reception and banqueting room and also a registrar can be booked if needed. Hexham House really does boast the most magical atmosphere and ambience, which makes it the perfect place to say your marriage vows, with accommodation for guests right on site. The apartments are also the ideal location for a romantic break or family holiday. Apartment 6 is on the second floor and offers comfort and style, with an open-plan living area, a kingsize bedroom and a shower room.

With an abundance of history literally on the doorstep, Hexham is filled with interesting places to visit, explore and enjoy. Hexham Abbey sits proudly to the rear of Hexham House and dominates the market place of the town. Dating back to AD674, this old priory boasts an interactive exhibition and a visitor centre, as well as fabulous grounds and public spaces. Hexham Old Gaol is another historic site and certainly worth a visit at any time of year. For guests who enjoy a day at the races, Hexham Racecourse is situated just 2 miles away and has a packed calendar all year round. Hexham boasts a theatre, cinema, golf course, rowing club, skateboard park, leisure centre with pool, running track and ten-pin bowling alley, so guests should always be able to find something to enjoy during their stay.

Hexham is located just 6 miles from the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, the county’s greatest Roman monument and World Heritage Site, which stretches 73 miles across the backbone of Northumberland. Crossing through stunning countryside, natural woodland and meadows, there are plenty of established public footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways and popular walks and cycle routes that guests must take the opportunity to explore, as well as Roman forts and settlements that include Vindolanda, Chesters and Housesteads.

The pretty town of Corbridge is only a little over 5 miles away and offers some great places to eat and drink, as well as boutique shops and a stroll along the riverbanks. The Northumberland National Park and International Dark Skies Park are both close by and offer some of the most fabulous scenery and views, as well as unbeatable star gazing at night. Hexham is also very well positioned for exploring the bordering counties of Cumbria and County Durham, with Carlisle, the Lake District and the cathedral city of Durham all easily reachable within an hour’s drive. Just 20 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, guests will find there are plenty of shopping opportunities, art galleries, museums, restaurants and bars. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
Apartment 6 can be booked together with Apartment 1 (UK3192), Apartment 2 (UK3193), Apartment 3 (UK3194), Apartment 4 (UK3195), Apartment 5 (UK3196) and Apartment 7 (UK3198) to accommodate up to 20 guests.

    Accommodation was very comfortable , well equipped and in good central location. Excellent having an allocated parking space for duration of stay. Good information beforehand from owners regarding checking in and information about points of interest etc. Nice to have somewhere that does exactly what it says on the tin.

    Lovely apartment in great position. Only issue are the windows which are ill fitting - not a problem in summer but I would be an issue in winter I imagine. Spotlessly clean and quality fixtures and fittings.
