Description

Set on a working beef farm, this barn conversion is in a great location from which to enjoy north Cornwall’s many attractions.

Set overlooking the farmyard of the owners’ working beef farm, these two cosy, comfortable, semi-detached barn conversions (refs UKC1791 and UKC1792) are situated in an ideal place from which to enjoy the beautiful north Cornwall coastline. The farm, set within 50 acres, has various public footpaths that cross it, enabling you to wander around the fields and walk your dogs in peace. It is also possible to walk to Perranporth or to local pubs across the countryside. The owners’ provide cream teas to the public in the pretty orchard, so you can enjoy a traditional cream tea right on your doorstep.
The properties are minutes from the golden sands of Perranporth, Holywell Bay, Crantock and the many beaches of Newquay. The cliffs, beaches, countryside and quaint villages surrounding the farm, all provide the ingredients for the all important family holiday in Cornwall. Perranporth is very popular with families due to its beautiful dog friendly sandy beach, complete with surf hire, rock pools and the locals favourite beach bar, which serves home cooked food, local ales and hosts live music right on the beach. A golf course backs onto the town, as do a wide expanse of sand dunes complete with an ancient buried church, an ideal walking spot.
Newquay with its surf culture is easily reached, and you can arrange lessons, hire surf equipment or just watch the waves roll in on many its beautiful beaches. Numerous tourist attractions can be found nearby, including Holywell Bay Fun Park, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, National Trust houses and gardens, Healey’s Cyder Farm, Crealy Adventure Park, Dairyland Farm World and Newquay Zoo. Sea fishing trips and boat trips can be arranged from Newquay, and a short drive up the coast road will bring you to Watergate Bay, the home of Jamie Oliver’s ’Fifteen’ restaurant (booking essential).
Padstow, the home of Rick Stein’s food empire, is a short drive along the coast. His fish and chip shop on the quay is a must, but be warned, get there early as they queue around the block. Meander around the lanes full of galleries, craft and gift shops and local pubs, and find your way back to the harbour for a clotted cream ice cream while watching the fishing boats. Truro, the county’s capital, with its local shops, cathedral, cinema, theatre and abundance of fine restaurants, is a short drive and well worth a visit. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
