With exposed stonework and beams Hen Efail - Old Smithy is a semi-detached, characterful property with spacious rooms. There is a lovely living room with a cosy wood burner for relaxing by and two spacious bedrooms. Outside is a delightful suntrap courtyard garden with Welsh slate, great for enjoying a glass of wine in the summer. The small town of Tregaron has a friendly village atmosphere, and a short stroll will bring you to independent shops and the square with a pub and restaurant. Also standing on the square is a wood carving depicting Twm Siôn Cati, the legendary 17th century ‘Robin Hood of Wales’. Tregaron hosts the annual walking festival in May and an annual horse trotting and carriage racing event.
Cors Caron, or Tregaron Bog as it is also known is the largest raised bog in Britain and lies just outside the town. It provides a habitat for rare flora and fauna and is fantastic for wildlife spotting, including buzzards, peregrine falcons, harriers and iconic red kites. The beautiful Ceredigion coastline can be reached within 30 minutes’ drive and offers lovely beaches and interesting towns and villages to visit. The Cambrian Mountains are one of the few remote areas left in Southern Britain and Tregaron lies close to this wild open wilderness. The roads crossing the mountains are acknowledged as some of the most scenic routes in Britain. Shop, pub and restaurant 160 yards.
