This is a lovely cottage located centrally. It is easy to get around Barmouth and the surrounding areas. We took heed of the parking advice and managed easily to park at the station which was a 10 minute walk through the town. Cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen equipment needs a thorough check - many of the plates / cutlery were greasy and needed washed before use and on opening the oven there was a dreadful stale smell putting us off from using it at all. This put us off doing any kind of cooking at all in the cottage other than sandwiches/cereal and fresh fruit. Thankfully there are plenty of places to eat out in Barmouth but as a family who enjoys the ritual of cooking a meal together this was disappointing and the only thing that would put me off rebooking another stay in this cottage.

Great holiday...but the info regarding parking is not correct. There is no free parking within a reasonable distance and the weekly arrangement to use a parking area opposite an antiques shop no longer applies as it is now run by a hotel who did not know anything about the "arrangement" mentioned when I ask. They need it for their own residents. Be prepared to pay c£9 per day if you want a permanent space in the public car park and factor into your holiday cost

Fantastic few days break in a lovely little gem. Comfortable, clean and cosy with all amenities just a few minutes away by foot. Honestly couldn't have wished for a better place to stay.

Access to cottage makes it unsuitable for large cars with young children

This is the fourth time we’ve stayed at this cottage, still as lovely as ever. Really comfy and cosy, especially in the January gales!

When you arrive, the cottage is at the end of a fairly steep very narrow short lane. There is no way to turn so if reversing is not a strong point stay near the bottom! The cottage itself is lovely and homely. There is a house book in the front room by the TV which gives more information. The location is great in terms of being a minute from the beach and town. However there is the parking issue. There is no close parking. The streets nearby are 1 hour only 9 - 6. There's is a huge car park on the promenade the costs in 2017 £8.25 per day NOT the £7.50 displayed on the council website. This is coins only. There is on street parking further away between the fair and train station. However these are residential roads. I found I was thinking about the car constantly which did put a dampner on the holiday. Also if you arrive at the weekend when the weather is good the town is so packed you'll be lucky to get a place anyway. If you wanted hassle free parking this may not be for you. Also be aware there are a number of establishments in Barmouth that take cash only. However there are so many things to do that you will probably run out of time.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner- Thank you for your comments. The cottage is in a prime location having easy access to all on offer in this area of outstanding beauty. Parking in most holiday and tourist areas can be quite limited and we can appreciate this may be a little daunting on arrival in an unfamiliar area. There is plenty of free parking within the Town in a safe residential area and close to the train station. We would suggest visitors park in the short lane on arrival to drop luggage and then park in the main car park whilst you familiarise yourself with the area., especially during peak holiday periods.
