Charming cottage and hosts. Clean and comfy. Access with a larger vehicle ( 8 seater van) a little daunting for an American used to wide roads. But this was one of the most peaceful, memorable cottages we have stayed in.

We have just returned from a week at Hawthorne Cottage. What a lovely place to stay, picturesque surroundings and the perfect location to venture the Kent countryside and coast. It's perfectly located for all the beaches from Whitstable to Ramsgate and the many wonderful bays between, we also had a day in Canterbury, visited Howlett's Wildlife Park and other local attractions. The cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you need, including a lovely Smart TV which was handy with two young children in tow - sometimes a bit of quiet time is needed. I would say the only downside is one bathroom. Our family consisted of my 2 children, (5/3) my wife, my parents and the dog, so the mornings were busy and a spare shower wouldn't of gone a miss. There are two locals pubs, a small shop, and a wonderful butchers in Preston. Minster Service has a large Coop where we went for fresh bread and supplies, it's 10-15 minutes away but we generally passed this on our way to and from our daily activities. All in all we had a wonderful, relaxing week and would highly recommend this lovely cottage.

We had a fantastic holiday at Hawthorne, the setting was quite beautiful and a wonderful escape for us a family. We loved exploring the farm land and took a couple of nice walks, some very nice places to eat nearby and Canterbury not too far away. The hosts were lovely and made us feel at ease. Thank you.
