"Surrounded by peaceful glades of woodland – the perfect venue for family and friends to get together..."

Nestled within a tranquil woodland setting. This 19th-century Italianate courtyard conversion, with substantial coach house, designed by Buckingham Palace architect Edward Blore, offers a unique holiday experience with its superb indoor heated swimming pool and superfast fibre optic broadband connections in each cottage. These four award-winning properties are perfectly placed for exploring the abundant delights of Norfolk.
The Coach House and its adjoining courtyard buildings are the only surviving testimony to this once prestigious hall. Built in 1840, the Clock Tower entrance (with working clocks similar to that of the Palace) is thought to be the only other example of its kind. With four-poster beds and marble-top dining tables, the properties are tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard. The properties enjoy superb leisure facilities, including a 30-foot indoor heated swimming pool with full changing facilities, shower and W.C., an indoor games room with table tennis, pool table and a children’s play area. The Coach House, along with the three holiday cottages, are equally suitable for larger groups of up to 27 people, making them ideal for special celebrations and family get-togethers

Located at the epicentre of Norfolk’s finest attractions, guests at Haveringland Hall will find themselves only a short drive away from fine golf at Weston Park and Barnham Broom, and walking and cycling paths such as The Marriots Way, The Bure Valley and Weavers Way. There is easy touring to the North Norfolk Coast, with Holt and Burnham Market (known as the Hamptons of Norfolk) just 12 miles, with delicatessen and excellent shopping, first class pubs and restaurants. Cromer (possibly most famous for its crabs), Sheringham and Caister all offering sandy beaches. Within a 30-minute drive are the Norfolk Broads at Wroxham, where visitors can hire boats for the day, or alternatively enjoy a leisurely day cruise. The nature reserve of Hickling Broad is a haven for migrating birds, including sandpipers, osprey and spoonbills; it also offers excellent fishing, especially for pike and bream, as well as a number of nature trails to explore.

Full of cultural attractions, the city of Norwich lies just 20 minutes away, offering interests to suit all tastes; from history and architecture to art galleries, shops and leisure activities. The splendid cathedral boasts some of Britain’s finest Gothic architecture with carvings adorning its interior, while high on a hill stands the 12th-century Norman castle, which now houses the Castle Museum. Within driving distance are Somerleyton Hall and the NT properties of 17th-century Blickling Hall (where open-air concerts are staged in summer), Felbrigg Hall, Oxburgh Hall and Sheringham Park. For family entertainment, there is a wealth of adventure activities and parks nearby – choose from Dinosaur Adventure Park, Thigby Wildlife, Pettitts Animal Adventure and Wroxham Barns, to name but a few. Shops 3 miles.

Personally as a family we found the cottage not of modern standards of equipment. As a consistent cottage hirer we found this cottage very basic compared to cheaper cottages we have previously rented with higher standards. For instance, the bbq was left dirty and used and no lighter to light it. The garden furniture was cheap and dated and would have benefited from a garden light for using the garden after dark. We feel that we paid a lot more for this hire compared to similar sized properties because of the facilities of a swimming pool. However, the pool was not usable for longer than 15 minutes because of the low temperature which we were told would always Be kept high enough to use. So for us this was a waste of time as we couldn’t use it. The cleanliness of the house was of basic standard as there were many cobwebs throughout and food splashed up walls. We found the grounds were very nice to walk around with the dogs without needing to go far. Our biggest let down was the minimal supplies of basic needs when Staying at a property. When paying a higher price for a property you would expect to be left with enough toilet Rolls for your stay and towels for hand washing and showering. We could understand the hire for the swimming pool as it was an extra. Overall the cottage was of good size, however internally could be updated to basic modern requirements such as a bigger tv in the lounge for 5 people and a tv in at least one bedroom. The cottage itself is secluded from other properties which was nice for privacy however any amenities where at least a 10 minute drive. A recommendation as a hirer which doesn’t know the area would be that the welcome pack included useful information about the area, recommendations of pubs/food, activities etc.

Lovely stay. Kept a 2 year old entertained with the swimming pool and swings. Great places to visit nearby including the steam train at Aylsham and the redwings horse sanctuary. I would be happy to come back. Very helpful and friendly hosts. We left our child coat and they sent it to us in the post. Thank you to our hosts for a great stay

the cottage was clean and warm with everything you required in the kitchen - could the swimming pool be open more hours or is it closed for cleaning ? As if you are only staying a weekend there didn't seem enough time to enjoy the facility-we had a nice enjoyable weekend
