This 1880s fisherman’s cottage has been redeveloped into a contemporary, duplex apartment. Set over two-stories, Hatties House is perfectly situated just a 2-minute stroll from the heart of the bustling town of Whitby. With a cosy coal-effect fire and a terrace area, it is ideal for small families or a couple wanting a place to relax in comfort after a day at the beach or exploring the natural beauty of the North York Moors National Park. The property offers Smart TVs and USB sockets throughout, as well as a contemporary and well equipped kitchen. There is even a hairdressers and beauty salon right on your doorstep if you wish to pamper yourself.
Whitby has so much to offer all year round and is a very popular place to visit with its regular festivals and events such as the Whitby Regatta and the bi-annual Goth Weekend. There is a large selection of pubs, quaint antique and gift shops and famous fish and chip shops. The local tour bus is an excellent way of visiting some of Whitby’s highlights including the stunning Whitby Abbey and St Mary’s Church, accessed by 199 steps which were made famous by the novel ’Dracula’. Here, on the cliff top, you can see enjoy spectacular views over Whitby and out to sea. Whitby has a golden sandy beach, as well as a marina where you can charter your own boat or join a trip out to sea to do a spot of whale watching. There are many pretty resorts dotted along the coast including Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay which are great for exploring our maritime history including Captain James Cook, smugglers and pirates.
The area is a haven for walkers and cyclists, and many walks can be accessed from your doorstep including a riverside walk along the River Esk and a lovely coastal walk along the disused railway line between Whitby and Scarborough, known as the Cinder Track. The Cleveland Way snakes along the coast and is a must for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Falling Foss Waterfall, Roseberry Topping and Sutton Bank are just some of the beautiful natural attractions in the area. Hatties House is also the perfect base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Travel by steam train into the depths of ’Heartbeat’ country, or take a fishing trip out to sea on one of the many boat trips that leave the harbour. The traditional seaside town of Scarborough is down the coast and offers many open air concerts, a waterpark and a Sealife Centre. The medieval walled city of York is well worth a day out with its National Railway Museum, cobbled shopping streets and a myriad of bars and restaurants all within the city walls. Thrill seekers can head to Flamingo Land or Lightwater Valley theme parks for a fun day out for all the family. Beach 800 yards. Shop 300 yards, pub 150 yards, restaurant 200 yards.
Hatties House can be booked together with George’s View (ref UK30434) to accommodate upto 10 guests.

Amazing apartment, could not fault anything, spotless, great furnishings, they have thought of everything even a slow cooker which we found on the last day :) parking could be a slight issue if you get blocked in but if you can park at the front of the drive then there is no issue, if not you just need to ask at local businesses who's car it is and they will move it, will be going back with fail - sending thanks to the owners
