Description

Situated in a beautiful location, just a few miles from the Northumbrian coast, Hare Cottage offers space for all the family.

Conveniently located, just 14 miles from the fabulous Northumbrian coastline, Hare Cottage has a light and airy open plan living space, along with a lovely lush garden. Two boxing hares featured in the stained glass front door set the scene in the aptly named Hare Cottage, where an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary features give extra comfort to this lovely, spacious property. With a good pub/restaurant just 50 yards away, and other village amenities nearby, eating out could not be easier, and eating in will be a pleasure in the sunny kitchen and dining area. There is plenty of room, so you can relax by the double-sided wood burner, or in the light-filled living room. Be sure to explore the coast, with beaches at Spittal and Cocklawburn, diving from St Abbs harbour and bird watching from the cliffs, or visit the working harbour in Eyemouth. Inland, enjoy walking in the Cheviots, fishing in the River Tweed tributaries and cycling on quiet local roads. Great accommodation for large family groups. Plenty of space to be together or follow individual interests with two lounges and a Conservatory. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The garden was great for attracting wildlife.

This is a charming and well equipped cottage and the owner living in an adjacent building was very helpful. A few minor problems were sorted by him together with a generous recompense. An excellent Inn is two minutes walk away and there is plenty of parking space. You have to be prepared to drive to visitor attractions and the honey farm is well worth a visit.

A lovely cottage. Not much of a garden very small for a family. Location is so central with a brilliant pub/restaurant so close.

The cottage is spacious, reasonably equipped, warm (we went in a cold April) and the log-burning stove works a treat. Although it may seem a touch isolated, there are in fact a lot of interesting attractions nearby. And a pleasant pub / restaurant next door. The 'gallery' bedroom is the nicest but is not suitable for those with limited mobility. All bedrooms are somewhat affected by passing traffic on the adjacent A697.

Fantastic cottage and really nice area. We had a lovely time. And the Blue Bell Inn, next to Hare Cottage, has delicious food! We'll come back!

We had a fantastic time at Hare Cottage. We had our two dogs with us & they loved the wood burner. The cottage is a lot bigger than it looks & has everything you need. We enjoyed spending time at Coldstream & the borders. Martin was very friendly & helpful & he left us a welcome pack which was very thoughtful & useful. We hope to visit again in the future.
