Perched above the harbour, enjoy the sights and sounds of the harbour from this spacious apartment with its own balcony.

Harbourside Apartment is so close to the beautiful harbour that you feel part of the village the moment you arrive in Mevagissey. Perched above the harbour, the sights and sounds of gently bobbing boats, the cry of the gulls and the waves lapping the edge of the harbour can be heard from the balcony that overlooks the open sea beyond. The narrow, tiny lanes are lined with pretty cafes, gift and craft shops and local pubs that serve award winning ales and local food. The sandy beaches and isolated coves dominate the coastline and provide a beautiful natural attraction. Many of the beaches in the immediate vicinity have interesting rock formations, the perfect excuse to go crabbing in the many rock pools. Take the half hour ferry ride across the bay to Fowey with the possibility of spotting wildlife en route, or to fully appreciate the natural splendour of the area there is a virtually traffic free walking and cycling trail leading from Mevagissey to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The cycle trail can also be used to get to the village of Pentewan with its cosy pub and non-working harbour that has been transformed into a sanctuary for wildlife and large sandy beach. South west of the village is the Roseland Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with golden sandy beaches, quaint villages, quiet lanes and coastal walks. For visitors in search of stately homes and expansive estates and gardens to explore then this area of Cornwall is a haven for magnificent National Trust properties. Stroll around landscaped gardens and inspirational surroundings, the perfect spot to relax in tranquillity or for a family picnic. Golf, sea fishing, cycling and surfing are all available locally. Shop 20 yards, pub and restaurant 10 yards.

Cannot fault the apartment, it was lovely. Very clean. Kitchen well stocked with cutlery, cooking equipment. Fantastic views over the harbour. The downside of this apartment was the entrance through a dingy alleyway, round the back of the pubs and shops, where all the smokers and drinkers go, shouting and drinking till 3am.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; So glad that you found the apartment faultless, the location is very special with lovely views. I cannot apologise enough for the exterior entrance and behaviour of the restaurant staff or customers. This seems to have been a regular occurrence this season as many other guests have commented on the noise, it is an issue I am raising with other tenants and restaurant management. In the many years that we have been holiday letting this property we have never encountered a problem before and we have many regular guests that stay every year, something different has happened this year and we are not happy. I can only hope that it didn't cause you too much inconvenience and we thank you for bringing it to our attention.

We thought the apartment was excellent - light, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, clean, and the view over the harbour was just superb - we spent hours just watching boats come and go, fish being unloaded, and tourists wandering around the harbour - idyllic. The apartment is child-friendly, with games and dvds to suit most ages in case the weather is inclement. There was only the two of us, so we were spoiled by all the space! However, the entrance to the apartment is awful. You have to walk down a dark, narrow alleyway between rows of rubbish bins belonging to the restaurants beneath the apartment and squeeze past the (friendly) staff on their breaks to reach the external steps to the seagull-infested patio before you even get to the door to the building. Such a shame. We weren't too aware of the restaurants, except for the nightly tipping of the empty glass bottles into the bins at around 11:00 pm! We had some incorrect information with regard to the rubbish collection - it is essential to put the rubbish bags out on Thursday evening as the collection is very early Friday morning. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Response on behalf of the owner; Many thanks for the lovely comments about the apartment and so glad you enjoyed your stay overall and that reflects in the high score you gave us. I do apologise for any inconvenience the entrance has caused, I have noticed one or two comments this summer about the staff from the restaurant and I'm addressing this issue with the brewery and the management so hopefully this will be rectified soon.

Although I found the apartment inside very spacious, clean, well equipped and the location (Mevagissey harbor) very picturesque I cannot say that the holiday was perfect. The entrance way to the apartment is the worst that I have seen, coupled with the fact that the staff smoking area for the restaurant below is at the foot of the disgusting metal staircase which leads up to the top priced apartment is a joke. The very first night that we were at the apartment we were greeted by loud shouting, talking and laughing from the restaurant staff between the hours of 10pm - 1am . This could be heard through the windows of the two bedrooms on the left hand side of the apartment which happened to have my 18month and 7 year old sleeping. The following day I spoke with the supervisor who apologized but didn't really seem to care (i suspect that he was one of the staff who was involved). When we walked back to the apartment and went to climb the stairs with children, pushchair and bags we were greeted by more members of staff sitting on the staircase smoking which we had to push through. Then for the next 6 nights we were greeted with the same rowdy behavior by the staff at the foot of the stairs obviously egged on by our complaint. So due to the noise issues, the generally dirty entrance stairs (and i would say not very safe with all the cigarette buts that were left there) and the overflowing rubbish in the bins around the front area this is definitely not worth the money we spent on the apartment...

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Where to start. I can only apologise for the disappointing behaviour of the staff from the restaurant, the previous review also mentioned the noise from the staff, this is not an issue that has been mentioned before and we will definitely be taking action. As you will appreciate the approach to the property is a communal area shared by other properties and businesses which may not be as conscientious as ourselves, coupled with being situated in a busy tourist town at the height of the season. I can only hope that it didn’t cause too much inconvenience and hope that the interior of the apartment made up for any causes for concern.

Very well equipped apartment with plenty of room. Lovely views of the harbour. Only one down side was noise from the bar staff downstairs.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks for your review. So glad you enjoyed the apartment and views. Sorry the staff from the restaurant were a bit noisy, this isn’t an issue that has been raised before, I will have a word with the management, and I hope it didn’t cause you too much inconvenience.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit the harbour side apartment, great location and view. The apartment had everything we needed we wouldn’t have minded being snowed in there but sadly the snow melted very quickly! The apartment is very well kept and clean - we will return

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for such lovely comments. The snow doesn’t hang around for long in Cornwall. We look forward to your return.
