Hanson Avenue is a semi-detached holiday property, fully equipped for people of all ages. Conveniently located in a quiet residential area of Shipston-on-Stour, a picturesque small English town, the house is a 10-minute walk from the historic town centre, with all amenities. Guests will find several welcoming pubs serving good quality food and drink, cafes and old-fashioned, independent shops. There are lots of activities in Shipston itself and the surrounding areas, with concerts, farmers’ markets, festivals and guided walks often available. There is a leisure centre and swimming pool just a few minutes’ walk away. Shipston-on-Stour lies amongst some of the most celebrated countryside in Britain, surrounded by historic, quaint and pretty villages. Within 10 miles of Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Campden, Chipping Norton, Broadway and Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, which has lots of historical landmarks associated with William Shakespeare. Within an hour’s drive are Oxford, Warwick, Bicester, Cheltenham and Gloucester, with history, shopping, museums and culture readily available. There is plenty to see and do around this area. Horse riding and golf are nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

    On the plus side the beds were very comfortable and the amount of cutlery and crockery was very good. The cooker was very dated and the oven trays were mucky but we ate out so this wasn't a problem to us. The furniture in the lounge was poor, the sofa bed was adequate but the other chairs were really dining room chairs and not suitable to relax in. The welcome pack was cheap and although not a necessity it created the wrong impression from the start.

We welcome feedback & give all comments our careful consideration, so we are pleased to hear that everybody slept well and liked the abundance of equipment in our farmhouse style kitchen dining room. Most of our guests do enjoy using the white oven, hob and cooker hood (as evidenced by 2 shelves in need of further attention after cleaning, now added to our checklist)!! A new Russell Hobbs stainless steel microwave with grill is also provided. We completely refurbished the property with a vintage theme for a holiday feel. It appears that the tongue & groove cabinetry with a painted cream finish wasn't to your personal taste or considered up to date?? It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to assess suitability for individuals in his/her party. If he/she feels that the photos are insufficient, we do have a full access statement available on request, to enable a decision to be made. However, everything is as shown. Very similar Ercol easy chairs are currently featured in the latest 'Edition' from John Lewis and we also have an abundance of cushions in various shapes and sizes to suit. Guests can also relax and find plenty of seating on the second sofabed in the rear lounge with bifolding doors overlooking the garden where there is also a second TV/DVD. (The 2 dining chairs in the lounges are extras and for convenience only). We hope all guests will feel sufficiently welcome and provided fresh milk in the fridge from the local co-op together with plenty of tea, coffee, sugar, sweeteners and hot chocolate so you could put the kettle on and feel at home on arrival. These items were all from Waitrose at nearby Stratford upon Avon as were the dozen small cakes, butter shortbread and chocolates. We are not licensed to supply alcohol and maybe this is what was missed! We always include a wide range of kitchen essentials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cloths and sponges. kitchen roll, foil, cling film and greaseproof paper, spray cleaners, disinfectant, carpet mousse etc. Cleaning products,sharp knives etc can be safely stored in our large lockable cupboard. Washing capsules and fabric conditioner are also supplied, to be found in the garage/utility. Both the bathroom and shower room are restocked for each let with loo roll, toilet cleaner, bleach, air freshener, hand wash and either bubble bath and bathroom cleaner or shower gel and shower shine. plus an extra bath towel per guest for added convenience in the downstairs shower room. This was a last minute 4 day booking. We contacted you by telephone to ascertain your requirements and were on hand to meet you at your chosen arrival time, having made up beds as requested with separate rooms for each guest, cream and pink bedding for a lady and brown stripes for the gentlemen. In addition to showing you the location of the first aid box, fire extinguisher, fire blanket etc., plus information to plan a safe escape route, assistance was offered to a wheelchair user in your party. We also pointed out the rear ramp, easy access ground floor shower room and demonstrated switching on and operating the stairlift. While catering for virtually everyone, we do also sincerely hope our accommodation will continue to enable our guests to enjoy a break. Shipston on Stour is a great location, close to both Stratford upon Avon and the Cotswolds but at a reasonable cost
