Overall the cottage was well equipped with plenty of crockery and saucepans. However, the upstairs bathroom was only useable for kid's baths as no shower curtain and low water pressure for hand held shower attachment. The toilet cistern upstairs also wasn't filling after a flush. We were assured that someone would look at it but no one did. It did resolve itself intermittently. This left 6 of us effectively with one toilet. The cooker broke down and was repaired very promptly. An alternative was provided immediately. The place is in desperate need of some TLC and a screwdriver to fix everything that's loose 😀. Poor quality beds, towels and bedding. Sweaty, plastic mattress protectors but none on the kid's beds? A cheap place to stay and you get what you pay for . . Caretaker lovely and helpful with good tips on where to visit.

Really lovely stay at the Hall Farmhouse, plenty of space in the house and very cosy setting. Only thing I would suggest is a table in the kitchen to improve social setting!

A great stay at the cottage very remote location but that’s what we wanted, would be a struggle if you didn’t drive. Great place to get away from it all!

A fantastic cottage with hot tub..let down by the fact that the cottage is dirty and suffers badly from damp that marks most walls and ceilings in the first floor bedrooms...such a shame as this cottage could be outstanding given it's fantastic location and character.

We had a great ladies weekend away here. The cottage has everything you need for a home from home and location is very peaceful. There aren't any amenities within walking distance, so you will need to make sure you bring provisions. There is a pub less than 5 minutes drive away and Southwell is less than a 10 minute drive away for anything you might need, but we came well prepared! The cottage was well heated and very spacious, there was only 3 of us so we had a room each, but even at full capacity (sleeps 6) you wouldn't feel like you were on top of each other. The hot tub was delightful and the welcome biscuits, milk, tea, coffee and hot chocolate bits were a lovely touch. We were only a 30 minute drive from home but felt like we were so far away. A great weekend was had by all and we will certainly be coming back again for a cheeky little getaway later on in the year.

Very pretty and welcoming house with a pretty garden and hot tub to welcome you. Very comfortable within but mind a couple of low door ways. We made a full xmas dinner utilising the arga as well as a well equipped kitchen. 2 very nice bathrooms and whilst the water may be slow you should be relaxing. Lovely stay with a lovely farm shop near by and 10 minutes to either tesco or co-op. This is a retreat and we loved it. Met the owner who popped over to top up the hot tub and is equally as pleasant as the house. We did have to buy wood for the arga and that would be my only niggle but we really enjoyed the peace with a close proximity to Newark and Sherwood. Highly recommend this

The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful spot. A nice walk to the local pub. The kitchen utensils weren’t the best but we would absolutely come again and just bring our own

Our 2nd stay here and it was still just as cozy and romantic as before. Wonderful location and lots of walking spots. Was nice to see the living room furniture had been updated and was very comfortable and cozy. Will be back.
