We had a great ladies weekend away here. The cottage has everything you need for a home from home and location is very peaceful. There aren't any amenities within walking distance, so you will need to make sure you bring provisions. There is a pub less than 5 minutes drive away and Southwell is less than a 10 minute drive away for anything you might need, but we came well prepared! The cottage was well heated and very spacious, there was only 3 of us so we had a room each, but even at full capacity (sleeps 6) you wouldn't feel like you were on top of each other. The hot tub was delightful and the welcome biscuits, milk, tea, coffee and hot chocolate bits were a lovely touch. We were only a 30 minute drive from home but felt like we were so far away. A great weekend was had by all and we will certainly be coming back again for a cheeky little getaway later on in the year.

Very pretty and welcoming house with a pretty garden and hot tub to welcome you. Very comfortable within but mind a couple of low door ways. We made a full xmas dinner utilising the arga as well as a well equipped kitchen. 2 very nice bathrooms and whilst the water may be slow you should be relaxing. Lovely stay with a lovely farm shop near by and 10 minutes to either tesco or co-op. This is a retreat and we loved it. Met the owner who popped over to top up the hot tub and is equally as pleasant as the house. We did have to buy wood for the arga and that would be my only niggle but we really enjoyed the peace with a close proximity to Newark and Sherwood. Highly recommend this

The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful spot. A nice walk to the local pub. The kitchen utensils weren’t the best but we would absolutely come again and just bring our own

Our 2nd stay here and it was still just as cozy and romantic as before. Wonderful location and lots of walking spots. Was nice to see the living room furniture had been updated and was very comfortable and cozy. Will be back.

If it's rural, rustic and quaint you want then this is for you. Obviously an old and interesting place with some original features but it would benefit from a really good clean (and would score much higher). Equipment is functional but dated with the exception of the hot tub which got well used. Location wise it's great for all the area has to offer and with a couple of decent pub's and eateries within a couple of miles what more could you want. Owner was very pleasant and answered any queries we had promptly so all good there. All in all not bad for the price but could be so much more.

Ideal if you want somewhere just for sleeping and in the middle of nowhere that is characterless, dark, cold and unwelcoming. We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages and this one is one of the most expensive but it wasnt worth the money

We had a lovely week, easy to find with the directions we had. Hot tub lovely, we didn’t have the best weather, but we still made the most of it. The house was equipped well, maybe a few more cushions on the sofa as the back was hard with only the few they had. There was a DVD player with lots of dvds which the children loved. There is a lovely Restaurant 5 mins away called the icecream factory, food is lovely and ice creams fantastic, there is also an outside play area for the children. (Go back to the main road and turn left, after a few miles it’s then sign posted to turn left, it’s then 5 mins down the road) it’s worth a visit.
