This converted barn, with a delightful garden, makes a perfect base from which to explore Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.

Historic Painswick, known as the ’Queen of the Cotswolds’ nestles quietly in the beautiful hills of Gloucestershire. This converted, Cotswold stone, detached agricultural barn offers holiday accommodation and lies adjacent to the owner’s home on the edge of the market town of Painswick, famous for its church and yew trees. It boasts delightful small shops, cafés, restaurants and historic pubs. An ideal location for walkers, with many footpaths nearby including the Cotswold Way. Bohemian Stroud, 2 miles, has an array of independent shops and a very popular farmers’ market. Many towns and villages are within a 25 mile radius, including the Roman town of Cirencester, historic Bath, Royal Tetbury, Cheltenham famous for racing and festivals, and Gloucester with its magnificent cathedral. The area is abundant with National Trust properties and other attractions such as Berkeley Castle and Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust. The stunning, honey coloured north Cotswold villages, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden, are just an hour’s drive.
There’s plenty of living space in this ground floor accommodation with two living areas. The garden is a particular feature, from where you can enjoy beautiful views. In addition to this there’s a patio offering a seating area and garden furniture, and the added bonus of private off road parking on the driveway for three cars. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

The cottage was absolutely lovely and with most things you need ,very modern decor and lovely scenery . The garden badly needs some maintainance work doing paving slabs and steps are all loose and sticking up and are quite dangerous especially if elderly people staying or very young children running around and its quite overgrown in places . Also could do with better wi fi connections and reception is very poor for mobiles , aslo could do with some more TV channels (very limited )

A lovely cottage in an amazing location. The owner left us a nice little hamper, which was a nice touch. Well equipped and comfortable. Plenty of local wildlife and walks. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

This is a lovely property within 5 minutes walk of Painswick (on a proper pavement). Just off the road, it offers a peaceful haven with a lovely countryside view from its long private back garden where pheasants and rabbits are seen. The trees and shrubs of the long and narrow garden also attract different birds as well as bees, and we sat outside and had our breakfast in the sun. The outdoor furniture is of very good quality, like the fixtures and fittings inside. It is next to the owners property, but they did not intrude on our privacy. They supplied a map showing how to find the "Barn", and even put out traffic cones at the top of the driveway to aid us; what a great idea!
