Description

In a tranquil, remote setting, this character cottage is set on a working farm just 8 miles from pretty Betws-y-Coed.

National Trust Holiday Cottage

This pretty, detached cottage is part of a working farm on the National Trust’s Ysbyty Estate. Built in the 18th century, it was renovated by the Penrhyn Estate in the late 19th-century, and has many original beams and character features still in place giving this holiday cottage a lovely feel. Situated in a delightful rural area and approached along a track across fields, Gwernouau Cottage makes a great base for fishing or bird watching, yet is only 2 miles away from the historic village of Ysbyty Ifan and 8 miles away from Betws-y-Coed in the Snowdonia National Park. Here you will find a range of individual shops as well as walks in the Gwydyr Forest and the Tree Top Adventure high ropes course. Visit the nearby historic and peaceful Ty Mawr Wybrnant (National Trust), birthplace of Bishop William Morgan who translated the Bible into Welsh. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
