Boasting a woodburner and a games room, this grade II listed cottage is within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants.

This Grade II listed, terraced holiday cottage is located in the heart of the ancient part of Woodbridge, and dates back to the town’s medieval foundations. Originally The Guild Hall and subsequently cited as the first Woodbridge Free Grammar School founded by Thomas Arnott in 1577, many of the original features have been exposed, and it has been renovated and furnished to a very good standard. An ideal location for year-round breaks, there is a cosy woodburner in the living room perfect for a winter’s afternoon after a stroll along the river, and a courtyard for alfresco dining in the summer. Located just off the market square, Woodbridge is a bustling market town with a range of independent shops, fine dining pubs, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a swimming pool, independent cinema, sailing and glorious walks along the River Deben. The train station is also nearby, with rail links to London, the coast and the Broads. The ancient Saxon burial ground at Sutton Hoo (NT) is 3 miles away, and the famous seaside resorts of Aldeburgh and Southwold are within easy reach. Ideally located for golf. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

We had a good time in Woodbridge, but were very disappointed with the furnishings at Guild Cottage. The leather sofas were broken and uncomfortable, the soft furnishings were old and drab, the mattresses and bed linen were sub standard. There was plenty of hot water and the cottage was clean and warm, however. A box of matches, spare light bulbs and a key to the back door would have been helpful.

Lovely cottage. Very spacious and comfortable. Only problem is the pub over the road. U fortunately we were there on a Friday and Saturday and it was very noisy between 10pm mad 1am. Which is ok if you are not going to bed till late.

Great cottage with lots of character in a very central spot in Woodbridge. The cottage was comfortable and had all that we needed, and was a great base for sightseeing. The downside to being in such a central location was that there is some noise at night, and parking is in a car park a few minutes away, but neither of these things were much of an issue for us and we would certainly stay again. The welcome spread was a lovely touch too!

Great location, well equipped & clean, unfortunately there are a lot of steps to negotiate throughout the house which was difficult for my elderly mother at times.

Excellent location in a beautiful town. Everything you need us close by from grocery shops to river walks. The cottage has everything you need and more and a lot of space...something you can't tell from looking at it from the outside. Kept in great condition. Highly recommended.
