A relaxing holiday in a lovely homely cottage. Loved unwinding in the hot tub after long exhilarating coastal walks and cosy evenings in front of the log burner. The cottage is very well equipped and in a very good location for visiting many parts of Cornwall. We were also very lucky with the weather!

Overall very pleasant property. Directions to the property from the website are not correct and sat back takes you in a different direction. Would also expect dish washer tablets and bin bags to be supplied and also maybe basic condiments such as salt and pepper

Place smelt of damp on arrival . The pictures must have been taken when first opened .the outside was very tired in need of some tlc . Internet was shocking. Hot tub in need of a good scrub Deffo seen better days. Left a day early as was disappointed. Shame really as it could have been so much better . Cob webs all over windows dead leaves all over not even swept round hot tub . Over all a scruffy apperance . Batnroom had obvious signs of damp.and a bad paint job. Bath mat was soaking on arrival . Also no info on all local places to visit and restaurants.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Grove Lodge. Whilst we appreciate guests are fully entitled to their opinions, in some cases we feel compelled to reply. Firstly, we are sorry you felt the property smelt damp on your arrival, it's not anything that has been highlighted to us before and we certainly wouldn't rent out a property that smelt such a way. The let is only 5 years old so in no way an old building. You are right in saying the photographs were taken when we first started, but I'm assuming that is the same for any property on the website? We have not previously been informed of any issues with the Wi-Fi. The onside structure of the property is wood so naturally fades over the years so will not look as fresh as it did 5 years ago unfortunately! This is out of our control. I apologise, there were some cobwebs on the outside of the property, I noticed them when I did the changeover after you had left, these have now been removed. We are surrounded by trees so although we sweep the outside before each guest’s arrival, more may naturally fall. We have recently replaced the hot tub lid and am sorry if you felt it was dirty, we regularly replace the water. The bath mat had been washed and tumbled dried, apologies if it was still a little damp. We leave a "welcome pack" for each of our guests with info on local places of interest. Unfortunately, you didn't raise any of these issues during your stay with us so we had no opportunity to rectify them. Once again, we appreciate your feedback and are sorry you had to drop the keys back to us at around 6pm the evening before your expected day of departure.

We loved our stay, the lodge was clean and had everything you need for a lovely holiday, the hot tub was a great hit with all the family and the scones on arrival was a lovely welcome. The lodge is close to all the popular surrounding areas. Thank you for a lovely, care free, home from home holiday

lovely holiday home, hot tub is fantastic and well needed after a day walking. great place for out and about. pet wise - this is not a completely pet friendly cottage, you have to pay for your dog and then they are not allowed upstairs. i would have chosen a different cottage if i knew this. the owner was lovely and advised that he checks the hot tub daily to ensure the chemicals are perfect. he does this while you are out so does not interfere with your stay. the location is in a nice quiet country lane, however the lodge backs straight onto the owners house, although the garden is self contained it does feel that you are on top if the next house and owner.

Lovely lodge in a nice location. Cream scones on arrival which was lovely. Down sides were in main room bed was dreadful and needs replacing desperately as dips in the middle which make you roll inwards. And needs a blind or curtain at top window in main bedroom as light comes into room at half 4!

Fantastic well equipped holiday cottage. Great quiet location, yet 5 mins away from some wonderful beaches, country pubs and walks. Would recommend.

Nice holiday cottage, but does need some updating, mould in the bathroom, and stiff Bi fold doors. We did feel it was rather intrusive of the owner to check the hot tub daily.... we have stayed in many other cottages where the Tub was checked prior to arrival and on day of departure, and was actually cleaner than this one was.
