Description

With this property being within reach of Dover and Folkestone, take a trip over to France for the day!

Oil central heating, electricity and bed linen included. Travel cot. High chair. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Payphone. Enclosed garden and furniture. Ample parking. Wheelchair access. No smoking.

Large, well-appointed and comfortable, this detached family house, with an acre of enclosed garden, is in an idyllic, peaceful holiday location. It has a bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor for less mobile guests, and adjoins the ancient 120-acre manorial common of Stelling Minnis and Lyminge Forest, in the heart of the Garden of England. Although this is good walking country, and dogs are welcomed, it is also within easy reach of historic Canterbury where you can explore the magnificent cathedral, take a trip on the river and climb the spiral staircase in the West Gate Towers which have guarded the city since the 1380s. The Channel port of Dover provides an ideal opportunity to take a day trip to France or use the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone, (be in France within an hour). Dover also offers a magnificent castle and secret war time tunnels, spot one of the nine ghosts said to frequent them! If you enjoy bargain shopping don’t miss De Bradeli Wharf, discount shopping with style or McArthur Glen Designer outlet village at Ashford. Enjoy a days horse racing at Folkestone, visit the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway or ’experience a safari’ in Kent at Port Lympne wild animal park. Well stocked village store and a traditional village pub close by.

We had a great two weeks at Grove House with our young family. It is a spacious, well-equipped and comfortable property with a large and lovely garden (the children loved playing in it!). Grove House is located in a quiet village (with a well stocked shop about 10 minute's walk from the house) and as well as good walks from the house we found a lot to do in the local area.

Perfect property for a family holiday. There's plenty of space in the house and in the garden for both adults and children to do their own thing and it's in a great location for visiting Canterbury, Dover and various other coastal towns.

A lovely, newly decorated, spotlessly clean house with a large secure garden, ideal for children and dogs. Shop and village pub are excellent but a 10 minute walk on roads with no pavements or street lighting. Our biggest disappointment was that towels are not provided, we obviously didn’t read the property description properly! It was annoying after a long drive to have to go out and buy towels when we realised this.

An absolutely fantastic time, the dog loved the enclosed grounds and the abundance of walks very near by. The house itself was very comfortable and equipped. Taking my elderly father as well meant he could have the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. An overall perfect holiday escape for us all.

Really lovely well equipped house, garden is huge - lots of space for children to run around. Really wanted to try the local pub but they don’t serve food on Sunday or Monday evenings. Overall we had a great time!
