With this property being within reach of Dover and Folkestone, take a trip over to France for the day!

Large, well-appointed and comfortable, this detached family house, with an acre of enclosed garden, is in an idyllic, peaceful holiday location. It has a bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor for less mobile guests, and adjoins the ancient 120-acre manorial common of Stelling Minnis and Lyminge Forest, in the heart of the Garden of England. Although this is good walking country, and dogs are welcomed, it is also within easy reach of historic Canterbury where you can explore the magnificent cathedral, take a trip on the river and climb the spiral staircase in the West Gate Towers which have guarded the city since the 1380s. The Channel port of Dover provides an ideal opportunity to take a day trip to France or use the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone, (be in France within an hour). Dover also offers a magnificent castle and secret war time tunnels, spot one of the nine ghosts said to frequent them! If you enjoy bargain shopping don’t miss De Bradeli Wharf, discount shopping with style or McArthur Glen Designer outlet village at Ashford. Enjoy a days horse racing at Folkestone, visit the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway or ’experience a safari’ in Kent at Port Lympne wild animal park. Well stocked village store and a traditional village pub close by.

We had a fabulous week at Grove House and beautiful weather. The house is spacious and well laid out and facilities good. The garden is truly enormous and great fun for the grandchildren (and adults!) to play in. The patio area looking out on to the garden is a great place to be in fine weather. There is plenty of parking space to the side of the house comfortably taking the three cars our family came down in. For those who like a stroll the garden backs on to parts of Stelling Minnis Common with much to explore. The location provides good access to the attractions this part of Kent has to offer. All in all a great place to stay and would definitely come again.

Enjoyed the house, which was clean and comfortable and well equipped. Local roads narrow and twisty which made some journeys longer than anticipated.

Newly redecorated refurbished. Photos and description on line does not do it justice. Power shower upstairs was great! Possibly not suitable for 6 as TV lounge only seats 5, plus 3 on sofa in dining room. Reading lights would be appreciated. Also only 6 dining plates which are quite small. Could do with more serving bowls, too. But garden is beautiful and there are numerous walks for dogs directly from garden gate.

Lovely rural location with large enclosed garden - ideal for walks and relaxing. Great place for a base if you want peace/quiet. Pub & local shop within walking distance. Grove House was clean and comfortable but don't forget your towels as they are not included. The carpeted stairs were a little steep and narrower than the average - fine for able bodied/kids. There was a ramp for wheelchair access through double doors and a twin bedroom downstairs. The downstairs cloakroom housed toilet, sink & bath. The walk in shower is upstairs together with bath & toilet - plus two spacious bedrooms (twin & double). I went with friends and dogs - perfect for what we wanted - but was also checking out for disabled - downstairs was spacious and perfect if you can climb into the bath - sadly the person I had in mind requires a walk in shower but would not have been unable to get up/down the stairs.

This was the perfect place to spend to spend Christmas. The house is very spacious and warm and comfortable and the large Christmas tree was lovely. My son's very arthritic dog loved pottering round the large garden. We all enjoyed the local area - great for walking. It was lovely to watch the snow falling from the warmth of the dining room that has large windows overlooking the garden. Magical! All in all we had a great, relaxing holiday. We spend Christmas in a rented cottage every year and one of our party said that this was the best yet!
