Description

Offering ground floor facilities, this bungalow is perfectly placed to explore the area and all its attractions.

This single-storey chalet, adjacent to the owners’ home, is situated in the pretty village of Westbury-sub-Mendip and has a large decked terrace with far reaching uninterrupted views across to Brean, Glastonbury and the Quantock Hills. The village is perfectly placed on the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, halfway between the cathedral city of Wells and the world-famous Cheddar Gorge and caves. Cheddar is a large village at the foot of the steep limestone Gorge, with many visitor attractions. Wookey Hole also has dramatic caves to visit. Wells is Englands’ smallest cathedral city, with a moated Bishops Palace and many small individual shops. Glastonbury, a magical mystical place, is famous for its Abbey, Tor, Chalice Well and music festival, and is about 15 minutes away. Bristol airport can be reached in less than ½ hour. The coastal resorts of Weston-Super-Mare, Clevedon and Burnham-on-Sea can be reached within 30 minutes, and the heritage cities of Bath and Bristol within an hour. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room with patio doors. Kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. Electric cooker. Microwave. D/machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Use of owners’ washing machine. Decked terrace with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). Welcome pack. No smoking.

Road very busy with big lorries & bottlenecks a lot so dangerous when walking to pub/shop. Beds too soft & no washing machine which was in my criteria when i booked.

Greenleazes is set with superb views of the Mendip. A lot of thought has gone into equipping the property, it was like home from home. I would certainly stay again and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Although the cottage is ideally located, there is much blindness both to the left & right when egressing from the site making it potentially hazardous. However, having said thta, we would stay there again. The owners informed us that they were selling their main house & moving into the cottage so if you wish to stay there & take advantage of the fantastic views, "grab it quick". Also, being situated on the A371 road, it was a little distance from the village &, with no footpath, could be dangerous to walk into the village.

The property was fine but next to a busy main road. The biggest drawback however was the dangerous exit on to the main road; a mirror allowed a view of traffic from the right but not from the left.

We (family of three with a 4 year old) had a lovely time. Sheila and Ray were warm and welcoming, checking we were OK on arrival and giving suggestions of places to visit/eat out at and popping over when they spotted Deer in the field behind the terrace for us to see. The kitchen was well equipped, not just with pots and plates, but with washing up liquid and even hand lotion! The weather didn't mean we could really enjoy the stunning deck and views beyond, but we could enjoy the games and reading books in front of the fire. We had a lovely couple of day trips to Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare (both around 30min away).

It was perfect . Really cosy Had everything we needed for a great stay. Really close to everything. Sheila the owner was lovely and lent me butter and oil so I could cook our dinner on the first night after a long drive. Can't fault it really. Oh and it had the most spectacular views from the deck.
