This holiday home is spacious and in a great location. We were unfortunately disappointed in the standards of general hygiene however. It was generally grubby, greasy cooker, dusty skirting’s, mould growing on bedroom wall around the pealing wall paper. My grandson aged two knocked the kickboard below the kitchen cupboard which fell off to reveal several containers of rodent poison behind. It is in need of a thorough deep clean. It really isn’t child friendly due to ineffective stair gates etc and that the back garden is the car park but then again they don’t really advertise it to be particularly child friendly but worth knowing for people who were considering it as a family holiday home let. If it wasn’t for the poor hygiene levels we would have considered going back and would have rated it higher.

The house is beautiful and well equipped, it is spacious and relaxing however the entrance is in a very bad spot, leaving and entering is difficult in busy times. Definitely not recommended for children and dogs.

Hot water and heating was an issue on the morning of our first full day in the house as the housekeeper had turned it all off. A small quantity of welcome supplies always helps (tea bags and coffee with a pint of milk) particularly given this is not a cheap house. While we understand the recycling position in Keswick, there was nothing to help us except that I have stayed there before and know how to find the recycling bins in Otley road car park. The suggestion to take it all home with us is ridiculous.
