A fabulous lodge located in the Forest of Dean just 4 miles from Monmouth. This cabin has been renovated to a high standard in 2022 and comprises an open plan living room with a Smart TV, a dining area and a kitchen with bi-folding doors leading to the enclosed, decked area and lawned garden. There is also a wet room with walk-in shower, and a double room and twin room, both with built-in wardrobes. The utility room, with washing machine and tumble dryer (coin operated), is a short walk from the property and is shared with other users of the campsite. There is also a small coffee shop and bakery on site for delicious fresh pastries in the morning.
Take in some fabulous walking straight from the cabin into the Wye Valley, which boasts some stunning scenery. This is a perfect base from which to visit nearby family attractions which include Clearwell Caves, The Secret Forest, Puzzlewood, Perry Grove Steam Railway, a sculpture trail and a railway museum. The Forest of Dean has always been a huge draw for cyclists and walkers. Areas within easy reach include Clearwell, Newland and St Briavels. Symonds Yat is a popular destination for ornithologists due to the presence of nesting peregrine falcons. The Wye Valley also offers a variety of river-based activities, such as canoeing and fishing.
The historic town on Monmouth is 4 miles and is steeped in history; a visit to Monmouth Castle is a must along with the Monnow Bridge and Gate. Spend the day at Monmouth Museum or take a visit to the lost city of Trelleck, where archaeological dig experiences are available.
