Description

Set in a landscaped garden, ideally located just minutes’ from Llangollen centre with a range of activities for all the family.

This comfortable Grade II listed 18th-century cottage is set back in a landscaped garden, yet is only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Llangollen. The town boasts a wide range of activities for all the family, including horse-drawn canal boats and a famous steam railway (including Santa Special) in addition to shops and restaurants, making the cottage very popular for family reunions. Walks throughout the Vale of Llangollen, including to the ancient hilltop Castell Dinas Bran, can be made from the door, whilst canoeing, mountain biking and pony trekking are available locally. Chirk Castle, Erddig and the city of Chester are nearby, with white water rafting at Bala Lake and the mountains of Snowdonia within an easy drive. Shops 50 yards.

We had booked Green Villa for a family get together and it turned out to be the worst weekend of the year - weatherwise, but thankfully Green Villa was so warm and cosy we were all snug, having a lovely time while the snow fell and the wind howled. We would definitely recommend it for its comfort, charm and easy access to Llangollen .

Lovely place to stay, extremely clean and facilities were good. Interior a bit dated but felt really homely. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Any kayakers who want to paddle the Dee this is perfect just a minute from town falls.

We had an excellent stay at Green Villa. The owners were extremely helpful in providing clear directions to the cottage and provided us with a flexible arrival time. The cottage was nicely decorated for Christmas, which was a nice touch. The cottage was spacious, and there was plenty of room for us (five adults) in the two living areas, kitchen-diner and four bedrooms. The only negative was that the only oven in the kitchen was in the Rayburn, which was a bit difficult for us to cook a Christmas dinner in, and there was not a huge amount of space in the fridge (we had a delivery of food for Christmas lunch and our stay which we struggled to find room for) - although the porch provided a cool area to store vegetables and drinks. Otherwise, facilities were perfect for us (lots of cooking equipment, crockery, glasses, dishwasher and washing machine). Llangollen was a lovely place to stay - excellent options for dinner and drinks, steam railway and lots of local walks and sights nearby. Thanks very much for a great stay - definitely reccommend!
