Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Description

This holiday cottage is set in a rural location, with a patio area that has some stunning views of the countryside.

These two holiday homes, The Lodge (ref UKC3701) and Green Oak Cottage (ref W43695), are set in picturesque Dorset countryside. They are in the heart of what was the Royal Stud and are in a great location to explore this wonderful area, with Sherborne to the west, Shaftesbury to the east and Wincanton to the north. The properties offer stylish accommodation and both enjoy wonderful country views. Green Oak Cottage is linked to the owners’ home and is beautifully furnished with original artworks. It has undergone a stylish facelift and has a comfortable interior, private patio area, and double bedroom. The Lodge stands detached and is set on the first floor. It is beautifully finished with the décor predominately finished in oak. Both sit on the edge of cider orchards where the award-winning Copse House cider is made.
There are lovely long walks across the Blackmore Vale and several footpaths within easy reach which lead down into the village of Buckhorn Weston and the local pub for wining and dining. Within easy driving there is much to enjoy, whether taking in the lovely character towns of Sherborne, with its shops, castle and abbey, or Shaftesbury with its links to Hovis and the famous Gold Hill. You can enjoy visiting nearby attractions, such as National Trust Stourhead House and Gardens, Longleat House and Safari Park, Haynes International Motor Museum or the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum. Further afield you can venture to the city of Bath, with its Georgian architecture, Salisbury with its fascinating cathedral city and spire, and many more exciting places. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Cottage lovely , hosts excellent, made really welcome and would stay again. Not enough drawer space in bedrooms. Jane and Dave even though we turned up too early settled us in with refreshments on a very hot day on patio while they finished off getting premises ready!

The lovely owners made us so welcome and were able to give us advice on places to visit which we would never have found ourselves, particularly an amazing place called Heavens Gate. The welcome pack was a nice touch too. Well situated in a quiet spot with lovely views across the fields. We really enjoyed our week.

A perfect and beautifully clean cottage with stunning views and delightful hosts who were very welcoming and helpful. A great base to explore the surrounding area. Seeing a white owl every evening in the next door barn was an added bonus.

The cottage was perfect for our weekend away - beautifully furnished, with a real attention to detail. Spotlessly clean and a most welcome basket of goodies to enjoy. We had such a glorious time exploring the many local attractions and enjoying the patio garden with stunning views over the fields - al fresco dining with sunshine in April! Great walks in the area and another good lunch at one of our favourite pubs in Buckhorn Weston - the Stapleton Arms. We have already booked for the Autumn. The hosts were in contact to ensure we had everything we could possibly need for a super break. Thank you.

Such an amazing cottage, the owners are fantastic, it really is a countryside escape, plenty of room for supplies and facilities to cook. We will return again and again, plus our dog loves it there!
