Feel like you’re in the heart of the countryside but lots of local amenities are very close.

Lovely cottage for a large group to get away too, we had a great time with our family over a long weekend, great views and a very homely cottage for its size.

The cottage is absolutely amazing.... our children had a whale of a time playing there. We had great service from the owner and all in all a fab holiday. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage location is idyllic and probably better suited during the summer months. The decor is a little dated and the furniture in some rooms is not in keeping with the character of the property but certainly had charm. We enjoyed our NY visit and although the cottage was 'dressed' for Christmas we could have brought a few more home comforts. Hand wash for sinks should have been provided? During our arrival we were meeted & greeted :-)

Lovely house and superb location for walking. Secure garden was ideal for the dogs and plenty of walks from the doorstep. Living room(s) and kitchen/dining were comfortable and well equipped. Only criticism would be the lack of a shower in the main bathroom.

Green Farm is a very old building, and very spacious. It is well suited to a large group of family and friends. The kitchen and dinning room are excellent in terms of space and standard of equipment and furniture. And the enclosed garden very pretty and well maintained ( though garden furniture could do with some attention). Excellent utility areas with washing machine and dryer, good space for dogs sleeping area closed off from the rest of the house at night. However in our view much of the rest of the house and rooms are not really worthy of the 4 star rating this property is badged.Bathrooms are not really satisfactory for the 4 star rating or for 10 people when the house is full - as it was with our party. One very nice en suite, one very dated and difficult to use ensuit, and another bathroom with just a bath- looks very nice on photo, but not very practical to use. The house is adjacent to the former farm yard, which looks in a state of advanced dereliction. We actually had a very nice holiday here with a group of 2 families, but we all felt the standard of house did not justify the top end price we paid, compared to other large holiday properties we have hired. There were no extras provided- guest soap, toilet roll etc and no welcome pack which the website mentioned ( only noticed that after holiday so could not mention it to owners at time). Anyway moving on to the location: it's a bit difficult to describe. Green Farm sits in splendid isolation is at the end of a very long private farm track , crossing 2 cattle grids. So if you're looking for peace and quite it is perfect. The local village is a mile away, pretty church but no shop. You can walk for 20 mins and get to the local Toby Inn, but no tradition pubs within walking distance. Walking out from the house was sometimes difficult in that all the fields, including the one the access lane passes through, have bullocks grazing. They can be quite intimidating as they are very inquisitive. The house book does give advice on walking through these fields and how to behave if the cows become interested in you- but we've did have difficulty passing the bullocks on couple of occasions. If you are going out for the day, there are many lovely places to drive to and explore- Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester, and several National Trust areas. Chedworth Roman Villa is not to be missed. Tesco deliver to the property, to you can easily get stocked up with groceries. I hope I've not been too negative, but I do want to portray an accurate account. If we have paid 3/4 of what we did pay for 1 week at Green Farm we would have been delighted. However as I say above we think it over rated in terms of stars, and over priced in its current state of maintenance.
