Great Turnant Farmhouse is situated on the owners’ working sheep and cattle farm. Located in Longtown in Herefordshire, this lovely property is full of character and charm, and has exposed oak beams throughout the property. There is a fabulous open plan kitchen/dining room which leads onto the patio area – a great little sun trap in the summer with views over the farmland, great for socialising whilst cooking up a storm. The living room has a fabulous fireplace with a wood burner – perfect for those chillier evenings.
A perfect location for a countryside getaway, romantic walks or as a base to explore the county of Herefordshire. There are walks to be had straight from the property. Nearby Hereford and Leominster, both offer an array of bars, shops and restaurants. A little further afield are the towns of Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury which both offer guests a lovely day out. Hereford city is just 17 miles from the property, there is so much to see and do here. Hereford Cathedral is also the location for the famous Mappa Mundi and chained library.
The very popular town of Hay-on-Wye, also known as ‘the town of books’ which is famous for its annual literary festival is just 11 miles away and is set on the Welsh border. Abergavenny is 10 miles from Great Turnant and hosts its annual food festival every year, there are also lots of historic sights to see here, The local village is very pretty and has a public house, other areas to explore are the historic National Trust Weir Garden, Croft Castle and Brockhampton Estate. After a day of exploring, all that this fantastic region has to offer, guests can relax on the patio area and listen to the local wildlife.
