Description

Discover the rocks and fossils on the Jurassic Coast and explore the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This comfortable family home offers a convenient base to discover this popular area. There is a cosy living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and a shower room on the ground floor. A door from the kitchen area leads to a good sized enclosed garden, with lawned patio area and play area for the children. There is off road parking for two cars. Upstairs are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Just along the road, only a 2-minute walk, is Radipole Park with an extensive field, children’s playground, basketball and tennis court, great for guests with children. There is also the Radipole RSPB lakes with plenty of wildlife and a bird sanctuary and the visitor centre is about a 10-minute walk away. The railway station is about 400 metres from the Radipole RSPB centre. Also within easy walking distance are a pub serving food, a takeaway, two large supermarkets and shopping outlets, all within about 5-minutes’ walk of the property. The long stretch of sand that forms Weymouth beach is about a 5-minute drive where you will also find the centre of the bustling town and harbour. Weymouth and Portland are at the heart of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The area is great for walkers, sightseers, cyclists, kite-surfers and climbing as well as sailing. Whether you are looking for a stroll on the promenade, long sandy beaches, a historic harbour side, some top attractions, great entertainment or panoramic seascapes and landscapes, this is the area to visit.
Dorset has a rich and ancient history, from the cobbled Gold Hill and Abbey ruins in Shaftesbury to the Iron Age hill fort of Maiden Castle in Dorchester, and the amphitheatre at Maumbury Rings. There are also many famous attractions such as the Weymouth Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary, Swanage Steam Railway, the fun-packed Adventure Wonderland Park at Christchurch, the world famous Abbotsbury Swannery, and some of the most evocative ruined castles in England at Corfe Castle. Dorset also offers magnificent gardens and historic houses, stately homes, a wide range of events ranging from family fun and entertainment for all ages, interesting craft and antique fairs, village fetes, open air concerts and theatres, or more adventurous pastimes; from a guided walk along the coastal paths or through ancient woodlands, to the delight of fireworks, treasure trails, beach games and water sports.
Dorset’s 88 miles of coastline stretches from Christchurch in the east, famous for its medieval Priory, to Lyme Regis in the west, well renowned for fossil hunting, and the dramatic harbour Portland Bill has a popular cliff top restaurant and the famous lighthouse. With sandy beaches, rugged cliff tops and tiny coves, Dorset has something for everyone. Beach 2 miles. Shop 550 yards, pub and restaurant 330 yards.
