Fantastic historic setting in a new development very close to the town’s Elizabethan quay walls, and only minutes’ walk to a diverse mix of pubs, shops and restaurants.

Enjoy a car-free holiday in a lovely, bright contemporary apartment in an historic setting, just an hour by train from Edinburgh and Newcastle.

Once the grand garden for the Governor of Berwick Garrison, in the heart of the town’s conservation area and bounded by Elizabethan ramparts, this bright, terraced apartment is within a sensitive development where care has been taken to compliment the historic surroundings. The open plan living area is light and comfortable, while the first floor bedroom is spacious with an en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower cubicle.

There is a good range of eating places, characterful pubs and a varied range of shops all just a few minutes’ walk. Take an exploratory walk around the Ramparts, taking in some wonderful views over the harbour towards Berwick’s iconic railway bridge. Discover fishing villages up and down the coast, including St Abbs, with its tiny working harbour and National Nature Reserve along the spectacular cliffs, and Bamburgh, with its wonderful castle and fabulous sandy beaches. Good walking and cycling can be found along the Berwickshire Coastal Path or up into the Cheviot Hills. Boat trips on the river can be taken from the harbour or from Seahouses to the Farne Islands. Inland, discover the lovely Borders region. Beach 1½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

    This is lovely accommodation which is so close to local amenities. The owners are pleasant and helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The town walls are just around the corner so there are plenty of opportunites for pleasant strolls.
