We have visited Goose Garth 6 times now over the last 25 years and it still has all its charm and character, and fulfils our basic needs. The 5*+ feature is the location and seclusion. Just sitting outside for a sunset BBQ in peace and quiet with magnificent views of the fields, trees and hedgerows and stone walls, with the sight and sound of Lambs, Sheep, Cows, and many birds is just MAGIC. We will certainly come again and again.

For three guys on a walking holiday it suited us fine. The owner was welcoming and helpful when a tree was brown down in recent gales. It would be worth the owner giving the cottage a make over and renewing some furniture.

We had a very disappointing stay at this property, in fact the worst ever! It was extremely difficult to find and we had to ask a local for directions. The place was dirty and tired and in great need of updating. The downstairs bathroom was old and had a brittle, ill fitting shower attachment so it was difficult to wash your hair. The cooker in the kitchen was dirty and the floor sticky. The sitting room furniture was dated, the carpet dirty and there was no logs for the wood burner. When we arrived there were bags of rubbish at the end of the drive that remained there throughout our stay and subsequently got ripped open by animals and unsavoury items remained on display each time we left or returned to the property. On the plus side, the property was secluded and peaceful.
