After a day spent walking along the Saxon Shoreway footpath, enjoy a drink at one of the two village pubs.

This granary is part of the 15th century farmhouse, that has been converted to a very good standard with beams throughout, and is located on a mixed working farm on the edge of the village in the North Downs in an AONB. Once inhabited by the Romans and more recently in the 19th century, infamous for its smuggling connections, most notably the Ransley Gang where one of the local pubs was used as the headquarters. The village has a wonderful butchers with bakery that has won many awards and a newsagent/convenience store that sells a great selection of cheeses and picnic produce. There are two pubs in Aldington, one within walking distance that has a separate restaurant area. An ideal holiday place for walking on the Saxon Shoreway footpath. Beaches at Hythe and Dymchurch, 5 miles. Port Lympne wild animal park, 21/2 miles. McArthur Glen designer discount retail outlet, 41/2 miles. Romney Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway, 7 miles. Euro tunnel and trips to Paris, 8 miles. Stabling and livery by arrangement. Shop and pub 1/2 mile.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 1 twin bedroom (disabled access) with en-suite shower room and toilet (adapted for disabled guests). First floor: 2 double bedrooms, one (5ft four poster) with en-suite bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet, one with en-suite bathroom and toilet. Beams throughout.

This is an extremely comfortable and well designed holiday home. We went with five people but this would happily of coped with six. The master room and double room both have wonderful en suite bathrooms with powerful showers and large tubs. The host was unintrusive but very helpful when needed. We used this as a tranquil base for a week of study revision and it work perfectly. Would definitely recommend it.

We had a very comfortable week at The Granary, although the kitchen area was somewhat cramped for 6 persons. General cleanliness could be better with more attention given to those not so obvious places. There were dog bones and remains of biscuits under the sofa in the lounge amongst other things. However we enjoyed our week and the cottage is very cosy and welcoming. We had a very warm welcome from Susan the owner, and the complimentary hamper was a nice touch

Very good place, in excellent condition and very well equipped. There was plenty of space for our party of 6, and also good parking. I also noted that it has excellent wheelchair access and facilities. The owner was extremely helpful, and we can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The disabled downstairs facilities were a big plus for our family. Will definitely be back.

Excellent place to stay if you have 3 kids and a black labador! All rooms with en-suite so no fighting over the use of the little room. Excellent facilities for those less abled as it has ramp, bathroom and access to all areas of the ground floor. Nice friendly host who showed us where everything was and is just next door in case of queries. Would recommend this place as a good base for Ashford outlet although im still paying the credit card bill from the wife going there with my two girls!

Very comfortable stay with a lovely welcome from Sue and a luscious hamper which was most welcome after a long day travelling with a toddler! Rooms immaculate and facilities very good. Info book very comprehensive too. Only slight disappointment was the pub up the road (Walnut Inn). Lots of good reviews in book but our Sunday lunch was sadly underwhelming.

Very comfortable, pretty and well equiped cottage. Although we didn't need or use it (except as a downstairs loo), we were impressed by the fully wheelchair accessible downstairs bedroom and bathroom. An 'easy' cottage to be in. Lots of parking space and all completely private from the owners house. We definitely enjoyed being there.

Sue Pullen was very accommodating. We had a few issues with equipment which were sorted as soon as possible. The location of the property was ideal for accessing the coastal towns of Hythe, Dymchurch, Folkestone and Dungeness. We also went to Tenterden and enjoyed a steam train trip to Bodiam Castle. It was a good location and the cottage was comfortable and good for a wheelchair user.

The ground floor bedroom with ensuite was really well equipped for disabled or elderly guests. The fridge and freezer need replacing. The "welcome pack" and flowers were a nice touch. We had a great week.
