Right bang on the runway, in the grounds of Islay Airport, you’ll have a pilot’s eye view of the infrequent flights of light aircraft visiting the airport, and of the plentiful birdlife living on the machair.
Glenegedale AirPod has been fitted out thoughtfully to maximise space and conveniently sleeps up to four people. There’s plenty of space to relax on the comfy seating and enjoy watching the wall-mounted smart TV, or listen to tunes through the bluetooth speaker. A patio door opens out onto a seating area, perfect for watching the sun rise and set, or relaxing in the evening gazing up at the stars. Relax and enjoy great connectivity in the sociable open-plan living space with dining area, well-equipped kitchen and living area. There’s a cosy double bedroom with convenient bunk-beds for additional guests and adjoining shower room. Right next door is Airpod One (UK34901) which could be booked to accommodate another couple.
Glenegedale is almost equidistant from Port Ellen to the south and Bowmore to the north, both around five miles’ drive. The world famous, challenging golf links at Machrie are close by, nestled alongside seven miles of pristine beach. Port Ellen is the principal fishing port and ferry terminal on the island, with shopping facilities, hotels, restaurants, Post Office, Doctor’s surgery and pontoons available for yachts. Bowmore has a charming small village character, with plenty of amenities and a good variety of shops, hotels and restaurants, banks, Post Office, swimming pool with fitness centre.The ferry terminal at Port Askaig is just 16 miles away from Glenegedale, where you can catch a ferry to the Isle of Jura, which also has a world class reputation for whisky and beautiful scenery, in particular its mountains - the Paps of Jura and the infamous whirlpool, the Gulf of Corryvreckan, which you can visit by boat.
