National Trust Holiday Cottage

The historic site of Lindisfarne, often referred to as Holy Island, has attracted pilgrims and tourists for centuries past. Situated in the very heart of the village and only a few yards from local shops and amenities, Glen House is a charming cottage, one of a row, which offers comfortable accommodation for two. Walking and birdwatching are just two of the numerous activities which draw visitors to Holy Island. The iconic fortified ruins of Lindisfarne Castle, which have been silhouetted on paintings and postcards alike, form a dramatic gateway to this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Despite its isolated character, Lindisfarne is easily accessed from the mainland which, itself, offers much for visitors; the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed Is less than 30 minutes’ drive by car, whilst the picturesque market town of Alnwick with its world-famous castle is also within easy access, 26 miles away. Beach 800 yards. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Three steps to entrance. Large living room with wood-burning stove. Compact galley-style kitchen with dining area and patio doors. First floor: Twin bedroom with zip & link beds (can be 6ft double). Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.
