There’s a real homely feel to Glasgwm, from the crackling open fire and piano, to the choice of living areas with comfortable sofas. Sleeping eleven people this semi-detached property makes a great base for a family holiday, or a gathering with friends.

Just down the road you’ll find the Llangollen Railway where you can hop on board a lovingly restored steam train for the scenic journey along the Dee Valley to the town of Corwen. You’re also really close to the Royal International Pavilion where events are held all year round, the main one being the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in July each year where the town is filled with music and friendship from around the world. There’s a well-equipped kitchen back at base, though there are also plenty of restaurants and cafés in town, all within walking distance if you prefer to eat out. You can take a horse-drawn boat along the idyllic Llangollen Canal, or walk the towpath to the end of the canal at the Horseshoe Falls at Berwyn, or walk along the canal the other way to the aqueduct at Pontcysyllte – one of the Seven Wonders of Wales! You can walk up to the ruins of Castell Dinas Bran, which overlooks Llangollen, or visit the nearby National Trust properties of Erddig and Chirk Castle, both of which have fascinating histories and are well worth visiting. This is also an ideally situated property for a day out in Chester, just over the border in Cheshire, where you can explore the historic city centre with its cathedral, city walls and unique shops located in the Rows, or even have a day at Chester Races. In the other direction is Bala Lake, the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
