Description

Explore the Millennium Coastal Path, which leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB).

Nestled peacefully down a quiet lane in the small village of Llangennech, this pet-friendly, traditional, detached former barn has been restored to a very good standard, with a private patio and garden with a gas BBQ, making it a perfect touring base for a family or couple looking to explore west Wales. ‘Glanmwrg Fawr’ has retained much of its original charm, character and lots of welcoming touches have been added, such as wi-fi and a large freesat TV with DVD player. Adjoining the owner’s home, and tastefully decorated throughout with spacious living areas and disabled facilities available, the access is wheelchair friendly and on the ground floor there is a walk-in bath with a removable hydraulic bath seat, and a bedroom has adjustable beds. The holiday home boasts a large games room with all the facilities to entertain the family during inclement weather. The glistening Loughor Estuary is on the doorstep and provides a haven for waders and geese at the National Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre, 3 miles. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Path (and 12 mile bike track) to Pembrey Country Park leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB). For a family outing, visit the scenic Pembrey Country Park, 8 miles, and discover its 7 miles of sandy beaches set within the forest, featuring a dry ski slope, horse riding trails and model steam engines. For the sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy a round of golf at the Jack Nicklaus course or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las racecourse. Away from the coast, Carmarthenshire countryside is just as promising with its array of charming market towns such as Llandelio and Carmarthen, as well the many enchanted medieval sites dotted around the county, including Kidwelly and Dinefwr 12th century castle and Heritage park. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Large living room with gas coal-effect fire, French doors and wooden floor. Spacious dining room with wooden floor. Farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden floor. Games room. Double bedroom with 6ft bed. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Two double bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room and toilet; one with 6ft zip and link bed (can be twin beds on request).

We had a lovely holiday at Glanmwrg Barn. The house was big and spacious for us (4 adults & 2 dogs). The garden was totally enclosed so the dogs could go outside safely. We visited pembrey beach, Oxwich Bay, Picton house & gardens, Colne Woodland gardens and several castles - all within an hour's drive from the cottage.

Amazing stay. Perfect location to explore the area. All the little things were in the cottage like dishwasher tablets, washing up stuff and even a a folder of local things to do. Perfect secure garden for dogs and children. Parking for 2 cars. Recommend Penllergare woods for a walk and lunch. Would definitely go back

Generous sized accommodation. Very large lounge with electric reclining settees. Gas fire which we did not use. Four toilets and three showers. Stair gates available. Low ceilings upstairs. Washer/tumbler and dishwasher. Tablets supplied.

Brilliant cottage for us and our kids. Whilst we were very lucky with the weather (two days of sunshine in February) it wouldn't have mattered so much as there was tonnes of space for everyone. The bedrooms were all very comfortable with mostly en suite bathrooms. Very well fitted out kitchen and a huge living room with very comfortable reclining sofas. There was a wood burner but we didn't need it as the heating was more than adequate. The best bit was the adjoining games room however which kept everyone amused in the evenings- table tennis, swingball, pool, table football etc. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was well located for the stunning beaches at Rhossili and Three Cliffs Bay.

Peaceful and quiet and cosy, but within easy reach of places of interest and food supplies, e.g all types of takeaways and convenience shops, close to major towns, coast etc. Owners live on site and are so kind, and left a much appreciated welcome pack.
