Description

Situated in a rural location, this cedar wood bungalow provides a perfect place to explore with direct access to nature reserves.

An internationally recognised nature reserve and the Ystwyth Trail for walkers and cyclists can be accessed directly from the large garden and grounds of this cedar wood holiday bungalow. Glan Gors is set in a Heritage Landscape and is a fantastic place for wildlife, bird watching and riverside walks. The reserve is open to everyone, and its high quality boardwalks provide easy access for walkers and wheelchairs, through a landscape of ponds, lakes and trees. A bird hide, glazed from floor to ceiling, yields a cosy resting place. The 21 mile trail is a disused railway line and is now a Sustrans cycle route. It starts at Glan Gors and connects with Aberystwyth. The Red Kite Visitor Centre is nearby. The picturesque Abergwesyn mountain road through the Cambrian mountains starts in Tregaron. This will take you to the Llyn Brianne dam, 14 miles. Within easy reach are the Dolaucothi Gold Mines (National Trust) and the Elan Valley Nature Reserve and Dams. A wealth of attractions nearby include Strata Florida Abbey, Devil’s Bridge Falls, Vale of Rheidol steam railway and an array of woodland walks and hillside walking. Tregaron has a history of being a resting place for drovers since Elizabethan days and is an attractive small town with local shops, inns and restaurants. From here, there is excellent fishing for keen anglers and it is a marvellous centre for visiting a wide area of West Wales. The seaside resort and university town of Aberystwyth, with its pier, promenade, National Library of Wales, University Arts Centre, cinemas and cliff railway is 18 miles to the north-west of Tregaron, all well worth visiting during your stay. At the end of a busy day, whatever the weather Glan Gors offers you the perfect place to relax by the cosy woodburner or in the conservatory and on the terrace overlooking the large attractive gardens. Beach 16 miles. Choice of takeaways 2 miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants 2 miles.

We were pleasantly surprised on arrival as photos do not do it justice. Very comfortable cottage with fabulous garden and direct access to wonderful walking on the nature reserve. Amused to find "DO NOT LET PETS ON FURNITURE " laminated notices on every single chair and bed in the property! I think there were around 15 of them ! Overall we loved Glan Gors.

Had a great time very homely and comfortable. Felt cosy very warm and the log burner was heaven. Great walks peaceful a bit of traffic noise but nothing too serious and never bothered us. Cannot wait for our next visit. Nicely decorated for us as well.

Very nice location only negative is the B road that runs alongside it can be quite noisy at the weekend period. The cottage is spacious and comfortable and the large garden is excellent for dogs to roam in.

The cottage was perfect and exactly as described. The facilities were excellent. The only thing I would suggest is that it would have been useful to have a tumble dryer as it was difficult to dry clothes.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in a nice location. Lovely garden very relaxing and secure for dogs. Although, it is by road wasnt a problem as it made it easier to visit places. Nature reserve next to it a bonus
