The more active can walk to the village of Salles lès Aulnay with its bars, restaurants, shops, supermarket and weekly market. There are several other attractive villages locally, and the town of Saint-Jean-d’Angély, 18km, has a beach lake, pedalos and entertainment. The famous sites such as La Rochelle, the islands and the distilleries of Cognac offer a variety of entertainment, whilst Futuroscope theme park is just under an hour and a half to the north.
