The Bothy at Gelli Newydd is the ultimate boutique escape, generously appointed with all of the creature comforts you could wish for. The designer kitchen is fully equiped for any budding chef to enjoy rustling up a romantic feast for two! The livinng area includes a comfortable sofa for snuggling up on in front of the fabulous wood burner - you won’t need it for warmth but it’s so nice to light the wood burner and watch the flames. After a long day of adventuring you can sink into the kingsize double bed with egyptian cotton bed linen and down duvet. The hot tub affords guests the ultimate way to enjoy the fresh air in all seasons; winter mornings surrounded by snowfall, or a warm summers night with a glass of bubbly, here we have the perfect accompaniment to the lush views across the stunning Conwy valley below. Simply light the stove compartment and heat it up as you have an adventure - and return to while away the evening under the stars. The ultimate boutique escape, this glorious larch clad, stone bothy is beautifully appointed.
This is a charming, unspoilt part of beautiful North Wales is a region rich in outdoor action and adventure, from the world’s first inland surfing lagoon- Surf Snowdonia, zip wires at Zip World, high ropes, and cavern trampolines, to the many forest walks, mountain bike trails, hills, lakes and rivers for which the area is rightly famous for. Join scenic footpaths straight from your doorstep, go onwards and upwards from the cottage and you’ll come to two lovely, little-visited lakes, Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant. Trefriw has a vibrant heart, so expect a friendly welcome at the post office/shop, the award-winning butchers, the fantastic working woollen mill, two good pubs, a cafe, and restaurant, all within walking distance (approx 15 mins down the hill and slightly longer on the way back up!). The River Crafnant, tumbles down from mountain lakes, provides the power to run the machines at Trefriw Woollen Mill, which have been producing traditional Welsh bedspreads for over 150 years. You can take a tour of the mill and watch its clattering, impossibly complicated machinery blending, straightening, spinning, winding and weaving the wool, and then pop into the mill shop to peruse the highly desirable produce. Take a look at these beautiful waterfalls, a hidden gem in Trefriw, just a very short uphill walk up the path opposite the Fairy Falls Inn.
This property can be booked with The Barn (ref QC1738) and The Farmhouse (ref QC1739) to accomodate up to 15 guests.

The Bothy is a decorated beautifully and has all the cooking equipment you could want. The setting is picturesque with lovely views to towards the mountains, secluded aside from The Barn next door. The hot tub is a joy to use, the crackling of the fire is the only thing you hear as you admire the view across the landscape or look up at the stars. Bring flip flops to get to and from the hot tub, shampoo for the bathroom and cooking oil for the kitchen!
