If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure, the Lake District National Park is less than 2 miles with its abundance of walks, cycle routes, wildlife, mountains and lakes. It also offers easy access to explore the western coast and has a couple of pubs and restaurants nearby. The nearest lake is Loweswater, about 5 miles away, which leads to Crummock Water and Buttermere. The scenery around this unspoilt part of The Lakes is simply stunning and the beauty, colours and unforgettable panoramic views are a sight to behold. Whether you want an easy stroll, a challenging walk or a serious climb, you’ve got a great base to start your adventures. Just 6 miles away is Ennerdale, regarded as one of the most unspoilt areas of The Lake District National Park and is teeming with wildlife, including indigenous red squirrels, ospreys and buzzards. If you want a real adrenaline boost, you have one of the best go-karting tracks in the country at Rowrah, 2½ miles away.
