Set on the shores of Loch Lochy, with breathtaking views across to Ben Nevis and the Aonach Mor mountains, this detached log home is furnished to a wonderful standard. This is a lovely cottage in an excellent location but there are several problems with the amenities that other people have reported and these have not been fixed. The property says it can sleep 8 but really only 6 comfortably. Also there is no blind in one bedroom. We had problems with the oven, glass in the door loose, no plug in the sinks, fridge was wobbly, no kitchen cleaning products, water pressure low so only one person can shower at a time and there was no water at all for a short period of time which was fixed quickly when we contacted the owner but still a bit of a nuisance. However with all the little niggles we really enjoyed our stay. Great view of Loch Lochy ever morning.

Lovely property and location. Property is looking a little tired and unloved. Water comes out brown and weren’t initially aware that we would have brought bottled water to drink. First day didn’t have any water upstairs. Fridge didn’t keep its temperature. There should have been a bag of wood for the fire but only empty bags were left (thankfully it was summer). BBQ hadn’t been cleaned out. No curtain/blind in a downstairs room. We informed the key holder but nothing was done. Lastly, the photos make it look like the log cabin is remote by the loch but there is a truck repair/haulage company directly behind the house and mobile homes alongside. All of which is compensated for by the beautiful highland location. We enjoyed the scenery, cycling, walks, swimming in and canoeing on the loch.

Lovely log cabin in a presentable condition, only constructive criticism it that the house is getting a little tired and ready for a general spruce up. Great peaceful surroundings with spectacular views. Very convenient location near to amenities of fort William and surrounding areas . Much appreciated welcome nibbles and drinks left for us upon arrival. Outside landscaping looks like work in progress but not enough of a problem to spoil our stay. Patio table and chairs a little tired . Only real criticism is there wasn't any general kitchen cleaning products such as tea towels, dishcloths, worktop spray. Other than those couple of minor niggles we really really enjoyed the stay at Gairlochy bay
