Enjoy a break in the pretty village of Martham with its large village green, and surrounded by National Nature Reserves.

Tucked away in the pretty village of Martham, neighbouring the owner’s home and the village green with its duck pond, these two cottages, Gables Cottage (ref UKC2344) and Gables Farmhouse (ref UKC2916) are within a short distance of a shop and pub. Gables Cottage is a detached cottage all on one level, and offers spacious contemporary accommodation for two. While Gables Farmhouse is a period detached farmhouse tastefully presented to provide spacious holiday accommodation for larger families and friends. It benefits from an enclosed courtyard which boasts its own hot tub for 4-6 people.
Winterton-on-Sea is just 3½ miles away and has an excellent sandy beach, with some areas designated dog friendly, and is perfect for a bracing walk whatever the time of year. Just a 30-minute drive away is the famous Norfolk Broads. Villages of Potter Heigham, Horning and Wroxham boast daily river trips, hourly boat hire, shops, riverside pubs, cafés and restaurants. The traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth is 10 miles away, with its amusements, pleasure beach fun fair that offers thrill rides galore, a wide sandy beach, Waxworks, pitch and putt golfing, leisure centre with an indoor fun pool and town centre with shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants. Pleasurewood Hills, 19 miles, is a thrill seeking theme park that will provide fun for all the family. Thrigby Wildlife Park, 6 miles, offers all ages the chance to see exotic animals up close, including a tree walk where you can look right down in to the tiger enclosure. Africa Alive, 25 miles, offers animal encounters too with an incredible meercat enclosure that is not to be missed. The medieval city of Norwich, 23 miles, offers a stunning Norman castle to explore along with numerous museums, cinemas, theatre, excellent shopping, two indoor shopping malls and plenty of restaurants, cafés and pubs. Further afield is the Royal Sandringham Estate and museum, 66 miles, and Suffolk with its heritage coastline. Plenty of good cycle routes are available from the doorstep and daily fishing is available at Martham Fishing Pits. Beach ¾ mile. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

    First of all I must say this property is very well sorted, apart from there being no shaver point it has everything, so all good so far. Unfortunately it is let down by a couple of things we didn’t like. First being the location meant road traffic coming past your bedroom window at all hours, and the “ outside area” being a car park next to the bins. Also be aware the adjoining house has a hot tub where people can party until late, a good thing for some but not when you have to listen to it until after midnight. In conclusion the accommodation is excellent but be aware of the surroundings.

    Great cottage within easy reach of Norfolk cost. Very comfortable and well fitted out. Owner very friendly and easy to contact. Good welcome pack including bottle of wine

    Great cottage for two, excellent location as there are shops and eateries nearby. Lots to do. Be aware there are no garden facilities unless booked with the next door farmhouse which would be ideal for a family holidaying together. Very helpful and charming owners.

    Lovely cottage, immaculatly kept within a charming and very friendly village. Adrian Holden is a lovely friendly man and extremely helpful. Kitchen very well provided and the most generous welcome pack we have ever received. Will definately be returning again.
