In a hidden valley, surrounded by fields on every side, with red kites, buzzards and ravens circling above and with views of the Preseli Hills to the west, these peaceful holiday properties (refs OWV, OWU & OWW) are close to so much in west Wales. Fron Isaf Cottages nestle within the owners’ beautiful grounds and have been sensitively converted from old slate and stone barns into cosy and attractive holiday accommodation, and Ysgubor Uchaf (ref OWW) is a silver award winner with the Green Tourism Council. The stunning indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi make these very special properties. Each cottage has its own outdoor area with private seating and a barbecue. In addition there is a large mature garden with a decked seating area perfect for enjoying the rural views and watching the sun set over the Preselis.
The properties’ environmental credentials are strong. Water comes from a spring and much of the heating and hot water is from a geothermal source. A footpath leads directly from the cottages providing circular walks of varying length in the surrounding countryside.
The nearest town is Narberth, with its wonderful shopping opportunities. About half an hour’s drive to the south are Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth with their glorious beaches. While half an hour to the north the dramatic Pembrokeshire and Cardigan coastlines offer beautiful bays, sandy beaches and market towns like Newport, with its excellent restaurants and many good pubs. Carmarthen and Haverfordwest are half an hour away and both towns have a good range of shops, supermarkets and a market. Tourist attractions like Oakwood, Folly Farm, Anna’s Welsh Zoo, Blue Lagoon Water Park as well as The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and St. Davids - Britain’s smallest city - make for a good day out. There are also at least seventeen castles to visit within an hour’s drive. Excellent walking in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on the coast path, as well as activities like golfing, sailing, fishing, cycling and horse riding are plentiful in the area. Shop, 3½ miles, pub 1 mile.

Very pleasant accommodation providing all you could want. Only "complaint" was the cottages were not as warm as I would prefer and the pool temperature was on the chilly side. Plenty to do in the area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Hi Andrew, thanks for your review, it was a pleasure having you family stay with us, were glad you had a good time. Just to address the two points you raised, all three cottages have instruction on how to adjust the heating and were always happy to help if asked. We aim to keep the pool at or above 28 degrees but obviously during particularly cold weather when it is being used frequently, or is left uncovered, it can dip below that level. Thanks again for your review, we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Great cottage lovely quiet position. Very clean and all equipment you could need. The swimming pool and spa such an added bonus especially if the weather a bit unkind, we often went for a swim first thing and then went out a bit later when the weather cleared up. Altogether a lovely peaceful place to recharge the batteries.

I stayed here for a week with my boyfriend and it was one of the best holidays I have ever been on. It was perfect and in a idilic location if you like quiet, peaceful places. My boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

We had a wonderful stay in Isaf cottage - loved the beautiful peaceful setting, swimming pool, wealth of information on the surrounding area and Ed’s friendly welcome! A great choice for exploring this part of Wales, we enjoyed the scenic drives all around Pembrokeshire, discovering some lovely towns, villages, restaurants and of course, stunning coastline and beaches!

Tucked away up the hill and linked to main roads by typical narrow Welsh lanes the cottage offered a relaxing escape into the countryside. The end terraced cottage was very clean and well thought out with up to date utensils and equipment and untainted spring drinking water. The separate indoor swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi were immaculate, clean and a real touch of modern luxury accessible from early morning until the evening. Ed the host was a real friendly and helpful chap who had taken a lot of effort to make sure the facilities at the pool and within the cottage were top notch. Very informative and clear help guides, house book and things to do suggestions available to hand. Very good TV. Wi-Fi a bit iffy with speed to be expected and mobile signal rarely available, but who needs it on holiday anyway. Overall it was excellent and very recommendable.

A lovely little cottage with everything we needed plus more, we were first greeted by the lovely host Ed once we have entered the cottage it was warm and cosy we walked up the stairs to the large living room and were then greeted by the sheep in the field behind us which was a nice site to see, inside we had a book and leaflets about the local attractions, places to eat and the walks around the area. we have made full use of the swimming pool, the hot tub and the local towns / eateries. we would highly recommend this cottage (Ysgubor Isaf - the end one to the left) and the local area :)

We are a family, and used the cottages as a base for visiting the Pembrokeshire coast: Tenby, Manorbier, Barfundle and Marloes, as well as the fantastic town of Narberth with its delicious food. The cottages are so thoughtfully designed, decorated and provided for; they are cosy, warm, and peaceful with lovely views of the garden and countryside around. The pool is great, and we spent many hours playing there. We will certainly go back. Fantastic value, too.
