Our host was absolutely lovely, the location was stunning, however as this was a winter visit the cottage was let down by the poor heating. I’m sure a summer would be a great stay.

The location was perfect. It is beautiful. The view over the lake is stunning and the cottage is surrounded by nature. The cottage does have everything you would need for your stay. The owner is friendly and helpful. Bala, a 20 minute walk or 3ish minute drive away, has many shops and restaurants and pubs, including a large Co-op so you shouldn't struggle to get food. However, I could only recommend a property that I would stay in again. The cottage is damp and had a musty smell on entry. A few days into our stay we discovered mould on the twin bedroom's walls. We then found that the master bedroom's cupboards had mould in as well. The bath area was functional, but was in need of decoration to tidy it up a little. There was thick dust on top of the cupboards. These things made our stay a little uncomfortable and I don't feel the price charged matched the condition of the property. A little TLC on the owner's part to freshen up the decoration and furnishings and regular *thorough* cleaning (including cleaning up any mould) would make the cottage much more pleasant. If these things were done I would definitely return. One other important thing to note: The cottage is fenced and if you have a dog with you the gate should *always* be closed. The owner's dog roams free and is viscous towards other dogs on its property. One member of my party left the gate open as they put something in the car. Their dog was inside the fenced property, but the owner's dog ran in and attacked it. We were made aware of the fact that the owner's dog didn't like other dogs, but not how aggressive it could be. Keep your dog inside the fence and make sure the gate is always closed and this shouldn't be a problem.

We had a lovely stay in a superb location just a stone's throw from Lake Bala. Would make a great base for a doggy holiday!

Highlighting that the cottage DOESN’T have WiFi may be VERY helpful

Beautiful cottage in a superb location overlooking lake Bala. Approx 20 minute easy walk to centre of village. Very clean and excellent facilities. Greeted by owner who is very kind and caring. Very safe for our dog with decent enclosed gardens. Would highly recommend this cottage for couples and small families.

This is a wonderful place to use as a base for Snowdonia or just to relax in and go nowhere!
