Cottage was in great shape and the location could not have been better. It was good to be somewhere with so much you could walk to, there were good restaurants within walking distance, Polzeath beach and the quieter Greenaway beach just minutes along the coast path. A slightly longer walk, over Daymer Bay, takes you round to Rock where you can catch the ferry over to Padstow.

We went to Freefolk as a family of 4 adults and a child, 2 off us are pensioners, for the new year. The house is lovely and very spacious and very clean. We have never had such a warm house and the log burner made a lovely atmosphere. It is on a hill and if you're reasonably fit it's a good walk into Polzeath. If you go left out of the drive you can walk to the cliff top and it's beautiful. You can then walk into Polzeath and the beach or Rock. It's not the out it's the coming back but take it easy and you can get home. We were disappointed that a lot of the eating places were closing for refurbishment but looking at the plans for the Oyster catcher it will be great next year. We would certainly return to Freefolk without any hesitation.

We stayed here for a weeks holiday in late october with 2 young children. We had the best holiday we have had for a long time. The accomodation is spotlessly clean with lovely big rooms. The photos really don't do this place justice. The house is warm and cosy and very welcoming. It is also very well equipped. The location of the house is amazing although the only sea view is out of the upstairs master bedroom out of the side window. This didnt matter to us as it made it all the more special when we made it down to the beach. Polzeath is a beautiful beach and only a short but steep walk away. Lovely coastal walks accessible from the house and plenty of wonderful views. We will definatley be returning.

Great spacious house. Spotlessly clean. We got a bed and towel change hallway through our 2 week stay and we were also offered a house clean. Lack of mirrors and storage especially in downstairs double bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs bed soft and roll together issue! Kids bedroom enormous, great space for the kids to play games but no board games in house so make sure you bring your own. Good location. 10 min walk from a lovely beach. Body boarding, surfing, rock pooling and not forgetting making sandcastles all doable here. Local shops where you can buy most of what you need and a Tesco’s in next town, 20 minutes drive. Some decent places to eat locally. Would recommend The White Heron, a friendly family run B&B and restaurant a short walk from house. Popular and small so you need to book. Would not recommend The Galleon Cafe for for takeaway pizza on the beach, rude service and only mediocre pizzas. Eden project less than an hours drive, definitely worth a visit. Our stay at Freefolk was relaxing and comfortable. Would definitely come again and would recommend it.

We had a wonderful time staying in Freefolk. Polzeath is a beautiful place. The house is well equipped, but needed more mirrors in the bedrooms. The bed in the master suite creeks terribly so needs to be tightened. But these minor issues in no way spoilt such a lovely holiday/house or location.
