It was a fantastic break with super weather. Isobel and Eric (the owners) made us feel really welcome with cakes and scones on our arrival. The property is ideally situated for exploring the whole of Norfolk.

Isobel and Eric could not have done more to ensure that we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at their charming cottage. From the quality furnishings and equipment to the welcome pack that included Isobel's meringues, fairy cakes and (due to our fortunate timing) some of Eric's birthday cake, this was a holiday deserving of its perfect 10 score. We loved the period features, including the original range oven – fortunately there is a more modern one to use! There may not be exciting nightlife in the immediate vicinity, but that is exactly why I chose this property. For relaxation, I would give it 11. There are pubs and eateries within walking distance and the "excitement" of Norwich is 4 miles away. with a bus stop 100 yards from the gate. My wife and I have holidayed in cottages and apartments in UK and Europe for over 30 years and this is the most comfortable, relaxed and "at home" we have ever felt.

I had a wonderful week at Foxwood. Isobel the owner is a fantastic host. Such a warm welcome on arrival with homemade cakes as a bonus. Very homely, quiet location with the sound of owls to lull you to sleep. Even though not the warmest time of year there was additional heating that soon got the cottage cosy.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Isobel, with cake and scones awaiting us in the cottage. From the photos, we thought that the kitchen was open plan with the lounge area, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was in fact a separate room. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Despite picking the coldest week for a decade, we were warm and cosy, with Isobel and Eric checking regularly that we were warm enough, and even offering us food supplies on the day of the snowstorm. The location is excellent - about 30 to 45 minutes drive from the coast and other tourist attractions. There is a bus to Norwich which stops 2 minutes walk from the cottage. We would definitely recommend this cottage!

Really enjoyed our stay. It was good to see that the owners have kept the character of this 18th century property. The owners are a lovely couple very helpful and friendly. On arrival scones, cake were provided which was totally unexpected and welcomed. The property is in easy reach of Norwich either by car or public transport, bus stop just a few yards away. Should one wish to visit the Norfolk Broads this is within a 30 min car ride. Would recommend Foxwood to friends.

Lovely cottage and a lovely owner. We were treated with scones, cakes and meringues on arrival. The owner briefed the cottage and the locality, and gave us tips on where to go. She even offered to arrive the previous night to beat the traffic next day. The cottage itself was a 1700s classic, cosy and well equipped. Was a great experience, and would definitely recommend.

Foxwood is a lovely, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Isabelle was very friendly and helped to make our stay enjoyable. The 'goodies' on arrival (scones, cream, jam, meringues, cream sponge cake!) were really lovely. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to relax on the recliners in the garden and sunbathe and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in on holiday. Thank you again Isabelle for a really good 9 days. Great we were able to stay an extra 2 days at the end.
