Buxton is a fantastic base for your Peak District getaway, the town boasts some great independent shops, beautiful buildings, a five-star spa, as well as the famous Opera House and Pavilion Gardens. You can do many walks directly from the property such as Solomans Temple or head to one of the local trails such as the High Peak or Tissington Trail.
At the end of the day, you can cook a delicious dinner at home, order a takeaway from the many food spots available or take a short walk into the town and enjoy the many eateries on offer. The neighbouring towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Matlock all have their own distinct offerings and are all fantastic to walk around too. If you prefer more adventurous activities, head to Alton Towers theme park, Go Ape or Carsington Water, there really is something for everyone in this UK town.
