Nestling in the hills above Kiltarlity, Foxhole Farm Cottage enjoys a peaceful setting and has been equipped and furnished to a good standard to ensure as enjoyable and relaxing holiday as possible. The cottage makes and ideal base to explore and enjoy the many attractions and amenities this beautiful and scenic part of the Northern Highlands has to offer along with very easy access to both the west and east coasts. The Moniack Writers Centre is 5-mile walk away. Just over nine miles to Drumnadrochit, the stunning Loch Ness is just 5 miles and 12 miles to Inverness, the Highland capital city which offers a very good variety of restaurants, museums, galleries and shops.
Visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness, a good monster spotting area, Culloden Battlefield, the historic Fort George, Cawdor and Brodie Castles or take a trip along the Moray Whisky Trail, the only one in the world! Slightly further afield take a day trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye or the Orkney Isles. Outdoor activities available in the area include mountain biking at the nearby Abriachan Forest Trust, kayaking, sailing and many other watersports along with golf, hill walking and skiing in the Cairngorm and Aonach Mor mountain ranges. Rosemarkie beach is 20 minutes drive. Fort William, the outdoor Capital of the UK, is just under 60 miles. For the less energetic, sit back and relax and watch the ever changing scenery in this lovely area.
