Yorkshire Cottages

The Yorkshire Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Yorkshire better!

Close to York, the North York Moors and the east coast, this cottage is in a great location for discovering all North Yorkshire has to offer.

Forget-Me-Not Cottage is the perfect base to see all that Yorkshire has to offer. You are close to the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and of course the east coast. This is an upside-down terraced cottage with the living room on the upper floor and the owner has taken great care to renovate and present this property to a very good standard. Located in the pretty town of Pickering, a bustling market town popular with locals as well as tourists. The main attraction in Pickering is the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway where you can take the steam train across the stunning moors and over to Whitby. Stop off at the village of Grosmont, also known as ’Aidensfield’, the fictional village in the TV programme ’Heartbeat’. Pickering holds lots of events throughout the year but the most famous one is the War Weekend in October, when tourists travel from overseas to see this 1940s weekend that re-enacts life in World War II.
Set in some of North Yorkshire’s most beautiful countryside, Pickering is a very popular place to stay. It has plenty of good restaurants, bars, shops and cafés, and all of these are just a short stroll from the cottage. To the north of Pickering lies Whitby, and to the east, you find the resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Flamborough Head. Within an hour’s drive you can be in the vibrant city of York, with its majestic minster overlooking the city and its walls. York is voted every year as one of the top 10 UK cities to visit and is definitely worth the trip. It appeals to all ages with its historic buildings, the Jorvik Viking Centre, Railway Museum, theatres and art galleries along with river boat trips, street entertainers and an abundance of restaurants and real ale inns. Beach 18 miles. Shops and pubs 200 yards, restaurants 250 yards.

Charming cottage for an ideal break for 2. Very comfortable with lots of lovely touches and very apparent that a lot of thought and effort had been put in to the furnishings etc. In a great location with everything on the doorstep - pubs, shops, coffee bars, museum and steam railway.

Clean and very comfortable house which we enjoyed. Big negative being the necessity to park away from the property.
