Comfortable cottage in a lovely small village setting. We had 2 dogs with us and it was perfect for our needs. We could park both of our cars in the gated driveway which was perfect. Lots of lovely scenery and countryside right outside the door. Great for walking and lots of great pictures too take. It's a little drive to get to the nearest supermarket but we were out driving and exploring every day so this wasn't a problem.

Our family trip was for my sons wedding in Myddfai, therefore the location was perfect to meet up with family in landovery and Myddfai.

Forest View cottage is a great base to explore the Brecon Beacons. Set in a lovely village on a quiet back road, but within easy reach of attractions. Plenty of room for a family.

A very well presented cottage with everything we needed to make our stay so enjoyable. The charming owners, David and Val, were very welcoming with a wealth of local knowledge that helped to make our stay so enjoyable. The cottage is well placed to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Pembroke coast. Our three dogs were welcomed and soon made themselves at home there. We are considering another stay at this cottage in the future to visit the sights we missed this time.

We had a lovely week, beautiful views very quiet situation. All on one level which was good as we had a toddler. Great base for cycling and dog walking.

The main reason for choosing the property was proximity to the Black Mountain and it allowed three dogs. In these respects it scored highly. It was not the most modern accommodation but was perfectly OK. The house and surrounds were reasonably private. The village was just a few houses strung out along the road and there were great views of the Black Mountain ridge.

Lovely clean, warm and well located cottage for walking in the Brecons. David made us and our dog very welcome, and was super helpful both during and after our stay - we’d left something behind and it was posted back to us the day after we left. Could ask for more!

The owners are good people and gave us half a dozen of fresh eggs on our arrival. Visitors should know that there is no reception on mobile phones in the area ( Vodafone and talk talk are our mobile phone providers). The owners did offer for us to use their home line if we needed. Even thought it is a nice area for walks the local farmers have their dogs free on the street and walking peacefully it is not possible; you need to be aware of them as they are not friendly to strangers. In order to find local amenities you need to drive for at least 20 minutes as there is not a single shop in the village.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; A huge thank you for your kind comment about our hospitality and welcome. As there is Wi-fi in the cottage our guests generally use their Facebook or WhatsApp link or other media to make calls, message and email from the cottage. But there is definitely a signal for several mobile company’s throughout this vicinity as everyone in the village has a mobile phone. In the 25 years we have been welcoming guests this is the first time we have had any mention about roaming farm dogs and certainly there has never been any incidents involving them in the 37 years we have lived here. The shops and amenities and other facts are clearly stated as to their location in the general description about the cottage and most people will have googled the area and be well furnished with knowledge of our village location and this part of Wales. I trust my reply will help future guests to feel comfortable and, as hundreds before, enjoy this very special, Western side of The Brecon Beacons.
