Excellent garden with lots of games for the children to play. Dog had wonderful time playing ball. Sally really looked after us with lovely cakes.

Host were very nice but the path to the farmhouse is very poorly maintained and not the easiest to drive down even if you pull to the side and go at 5mph. The property is spacious however carpets are threadbare and the shower has only two settings, extremely hot or freezing cold.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We were sad to hear you were disappointed with your 2 night break here at the farm whilst you attended a local event. As a working farm we acknowledge a long entrance lane but as many of our happy return visitors have found this gives a change to be away from the hustle and bustle relaxing in our rural, spacious cottage. At the time of your short notice booking we had not completed the winter maintenance following the alterations to the large woodburning fire and the new carpet wasn't laid until early July. We are proud that have won customer choice awards for the previous three years but understand that our cosy farm accommodation did not suit you.

On our arrival we had a lovely warm welcome from Sally the owner, along with homemade cakes which was a very nice touch. The log basket being filled up every day for the stove was great as the stove was needed to supplement the heating as it was quite cold! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

The main reason we wouldn't stay here again is the formidable drive. I have a large Mercedes with 18" tyres, but if driven down the track in the grooves of other vehicles, one would frequently ground the underside of the car on the raised middle section which contained hardcore. The track is very muddy & interminably long. (Several hundred yards) To drive at anything more than 3 to 5 mph would be foolhardy. The very friendly owner, Sally, suggested we drive on the hard left or hard right to avoid grounding & this worked, but in some sections, you then ran the real risk of scraping the paintwork against the banking or hedging. After each exit from the farm, the car looked like it had ploughed a few fields. I'm really not over-precious about my car, but this was exceptionally trying. As far as the welcome, facilities, owners etc. Forda Farm was jolly good.

We had a lovely warm welcome from owner with homemade cakes. House was very clean and well equipped. As a family of 5 we had plenty of room at Forda farm. We loved the remote location with local shops etc not too far away. lovely big garden for children to play in. It was a great location for some fabulous days out would highly recommend The Big Sheep and Bude beach. I would definitely stay here again. Stunning views in the morning.
