This cottage was everything we expecting and more. It’s based around a farm and a few houses but it is so relaxing, so quiet and very comfortable and clean. Next door people helped if we needed anything and we didn’t need much just checking the oven working. The views were amazing and the weather was amazing. Sitting at the front door was a real sun trap and the alpacas were interesting neighbours. Although the cottage was remote ( we found this a positive) and we had a great week travelling on great quiet roads to beautiful countryside, beautiful beaches and quaint and interesting towns. Our little dog was able to get into most places to eat and the beaches/castles will draw us back to this beautiful part of the country Xxxx

An exceptionally well prepared & presented cottage with clear signs that the proprietors have tried to anticipate visitors' needs. Internally, the only 'wish' was that towels were larger & fluffier. Externally, the fully enclosed garden was a boon for a dog owner and the standard of the grass, front & back, put our home patch to shame.

Great location and very quiet and comfortable cottage. Good sized living room, bedroom and bathroom though bed on the small side. Woodburner very easy to light. Not the place if you want to walk to a pub/restaurant but just right for a relaxing holiday. The 3 alpacas in the paddock were an added attraction.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. The bed is a standard 4'6" double bed.

The location of the cottage was excellent for a week of great walking. The views from the lounge are stunning with the bonus of entertaining alpacas! The cottage was spotlessly clean and the WiFi super but personally we found several minor irritations which meant it wasn’t quite as good as other comparable places we’ve stayed. In particular we found the set up of the heating controls unusual and difficult to manage to suit our requirements. Also the towels were thin, hard and small. Overall though we had a great week in glorious countryside, and the 'lack of amenities' suited us fine!!! The flowers/brownies/wine were appreciated.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; There are quite simple instructions in the house book regarding the heating controls and we are easily contacted by telephone, also we make our guests aware that our son lives next door and can help with any queries. The time clock is easily changed and we have just stayed in a cottage with the same one, so not so very unusual. As we live in the country all our linen is line dried in accordance with our green policy, this gives a different finish from tumble dried articles. The towels are of standard bath and hand size.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, everything was provided. Perfect home from home. We were provided with milk, coffee and tea bags to start us off, with lovely cake to go with a cuppa. Then for later a bottle of wine! A lot of thought had gone into providing what would be needed and was very much appreciated. Yes, we would go back there, the only critique would be it had not a washer dryer, although when we stayed the weather was ok, but a dryer would have made a difference in wet weather. Thank you for making the cottage so homely.

it was a real pleasure to stay at Folly view, whilst not "near" any amenities neither was it too "far" away. And it was well worth it to stay in such a beautiful, well equipped cottage. in a beautiful location.
