Wonderfully located - gorgeous views all around cottage - nice garden - complete privacy (although Kizzee cottage just nearby) - Kilorglin & shops 5 min drive away - Tralee and Killarney 25min drive - immediate access to ring of Kerry and Dingle pennisula - nice walks around the house - Cottage is very comfortable with excellent furnishings and fittings - pristine cleanliness - beds very comfortable - more spacious than we expected - one of the most charming and well cared for holiday homes we ever stayed in !

Just spent a week in Fleur Cottage Killorglin. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of this place. Cobwebs, spiders and lots of slugs in the house. During the night I got up to go to the bathroom and I lifted my phone to see what time it was and felt something wet and cold on top, turned the light on to see a slug crawling on it. Every night when I went through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, slugs would be crawling on the kitchen cupboards, cooker and washing machine. I've lived in the country for over 30 years and have never had a slug inside my house. The fire wasn't cleaned out. Bar-b-que was dirty and old charcoal was still in it. We ate out every night as the oven was also very dirty. My husband and I tripped on the broken door saddles. Chipped crockery needs replacing. Cottage had a damp musty smell especially the main bedroom. Temperature of fridge not working properly as the items I had in there would sometimes feel cold then warm. This cottage is in bad disrepair and wouldn't be safe for the elderly or children. If you are looking for a cottage with Wifi then Fleur Cottage is not for you. If we wanted to contact our family & friends we had to wait until we left the cottage every morning. If a hoover had been provided, we could have got rid of all the cobwebs and spiders ourselves. When we arrived at the cottage, we went searching in the out shed to see if there was a mop bucket so we could wash the floors. We did find a bucket with a mop which was standing up in stagnant water. It smelt disgusting. We have stayed in so many beautiful cottages in Ireland but this was so disappointing. Wouldn't recommend this cottage to my family and friends.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: It was with deep disappointment I read your complaint regarding Fleur Cottage. We have been letting Fleur for over 13 years now and have only every had excellent reviews and happy customers. We therefore take your concerns very seriously. We are keen to ensure no lapse in the high cleanliness standards we set ourselves has occurred and have reviewed your concerns with our cleaner. We have spoken with our WiFi provider. They had no reported interruption of signal that week and suggest the hot weather perhaps caused issues for your devices. Current clients have not reported any problems, but we apologise for any inconvenience you experienced. Regular health and safety checks are carried out on the premises as part of our contract to let and we have never failed to meet the standards required. Thankfully in the 13 years we have let the cottage, having both young and old reside with us, no accidents have occurred. We thank your for your feedback, will investigate and make repairs where necessary. We have had the fridge checked by an authorised repair man who has stated it to be in full working order. Ireland has a very changeable climate and temperatures can change drastically very quickly. We leave extra bedding so guests have the option to use them if necessary. We appreciate it takes up wardrobe space and will look into this as part of our review. Although we do regular checks ourselves on crockery we appreciate when guests report any damages so these can be immediately removed. We will re-examine inventory and remove any stock that's chipped. We will ensure that the user manuals we provide are in plain sight for guests to find. We will ensure that both the Hoover and Ironing board provided are clearly visible to guests. We are very disappointed that your experience with us was less than you had hoped for and we take on board your comments and move forward on a positive note. We wish you nothing but the best and hope your next holiday lives up to your expectations.
