Ideally located for exploring the Broads, this location is a great holiday away with nearby beaches and great local attractions.

This single storey holiday property, adjacent to the owners’ home, is located in the village of Strumpshaw, which has 2 village pubs and a shop, and is midway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. It is well-known as the home to the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen, here you may see harriers gliding over the reed beds and hear the booming of the bittern. The village is also home to Strumpshaw Hall Steam Museum, housing many fine examples of steam traction engines. The property is ideally located for exploring the Broads, with day launches which can be hired at nearby Acle. The beaches at Great Yarmouth are a short drive away, offering both traditional seaside entertainment and the quiet seclusion of the north beaches. Alternatively, spend a day in the city of Norwich, with its fine cathedral, museums, theatres and array of shops and cafes. Walking, cycling, fishing and bird watching are all available locally. Beach 12 miles. Shop 600 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

It is really a Granny flat not a cottage. No dishwasher, bath or washing machine. We had to request a hair dryer

A lovely cottage in a good, quiet location. Owners are very friendly and helpful. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and very clean. The description on the website is accurate apart from it saying the property “fronts on to the Broads”, which clearly it does not. This wasn’t a negative for us, and it certainly didn’t spoil our stay, but it may for some. Would stay here again and would recommend to others.

Very pleasant accommodation; the bungalow is an extension of the owners property. Car parking right outside and good access for wheelchair users and people with walking difficulties. It is a good location to explore Norfolk and Suffolk, or just to go on local walks. It is a good area for bird watchers. We would have found a small freezer useful, and would have preferred a slightly larger television. WiFi was good. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was plenty of extra bedding and towels if required. The owners are very friendly and able to provide lots of local knowledge as well as local maps.

A pleasant surprise awaited us on our arrival at Finch Rest. We did not expect it to be so private & peaceful. Owner Bill was proud to show us our holiday let & rightly so. It was immaculate, clean, bright & inviting. We found everything working perfectly, shower, tv, wifi, microwave, etc etc. We could not fault anything. Our double bed was clean & very comfy. The spacious wet room was very nice, the power shower provided water at your chosen temperature. I was worried about parking, no need. Our car was just across the long drive, 4 metres from our front door. Garden birds were everywhere. A feeder just outside our lounge window, kept us entertained the entire week.
